Benjy's arrived. He's already nearly run me ragged, he's a right little character, and I'm glad Mr LW is going to be here over the 3 days we've got him.:D He's only 4 years old, so a lot younger than most of the dogs I get to look after. Interestingly, his food includes raw carrots!

JennyJewell and Sexymouse excellent news, both of you.:o

Valli I've had that sort of silly nonsense with the mail before - annoying, especially when you write all over the thing and it still reappears a couple of days later.

We have a bottle of champagne in the fridge (special offer in Mr M's) which Mr LW will want us to have tonight, but I really cba if I'm honest. We only ever end up putting the TV on at 5 to midnight, usually Jools Flamin' Holland, and I really don't think I can stomach it this year. Miserable old bat, aren't I?:D

    Update on my list

    Done;
    Landing
    Sorted bookcase
    moved gibble

    DS Room
Binned so much - hoping he doesn't notice

    Our B/Room
    Cleared gibble
    Emptied bin

So far I have 2 big bags for the bin, 1 for the garage and 2 for the Charity Shop

Does anyone else feel lighter when they chuck stuff - I always do!!

    Helen x

PS Dad is coming home tomorrow and we'll know in 2 weeks if a Gall Bladder removal op is needed but there are complications if he does and complications if he doesn't have it removed so hoping the tests comeback clear and that he can concentrate on his recovery - new year, new start - I was going to do washing tomorrow but won't now incase I wash him away

Adding this bit so I can post!!

Helen I'll bet your Dad will be glad to get home; personally, I think you convalesce better in your own familiar surroundings. Hoping the test reults are good for him.

I didn't know that about not doing washing on New Years Day - but I'm estranged from all my family anyway, so probably doesn't count.:D

  • well ive been out and got some nibbles for tonight. its a dvd night and a few glasses of bubbley for me with some nice nibbles. M&S was horrendus you would think there is no food for a year the way some people were buying.

ive also got my wedding cars and dj booked so its just very minor bits now that need sorting like hair and make up, alterations and what photo album we are having :j:j:j the downside is the wedding is now costing double what we had planned for . the extra cost is already budgeted for but its so scarey how quickly its added up even with mates rates on alot of things!

right off to hoover the stairs and living room and then mop the laminate and setttle down with a bottle of bucks fizz to enjoy whilst in my dvd marathon.

HOPE EVERYONE HAS A WONDERFUL NIGHT WHATEVER THEY DO.

Have achieved very little today - no work, a bit of tidying and bunged in a load of washing. I'd like to use the weekend to get the place clean, tidy and organised to start the New Year.

I've ended this one by sending an email to my boss (and the team) disagreeing with his take that 'the three who are doing OK don't need to do anything and the seven who aren't need to improve' and telling him that if we're a team, the three who are doing OK need to show the seven who aren't how to get it right. And then recommending 'first, break all the rules' and 'now discover your strengths' as New Year reading :p Not sure whether it'll be the kick up the backside needed or a career limiting move, but I am fed up to the back teeth with the negativity and divisiveness within the team... (OK, and with having a crap manager :o)

I'll just have to see what happens. My useless bloke has done a lot of work on the paper we were writing yesterday, so I suppose I should look at it and do my bit. He very helpfully told me yesterday that he was missing me... I keep telling him we shouldn't be discussing personal stuff at work :(

Off to have a shower and dress and try to get my act together... I need the place clean and tidy, and to get some exercise otherwise I won't be able to sort my head out.

I've decluttered and binned half of a box of random paperwork.

Filled a binbag and cleared bedroom and bathroom bins.

Today and tomorrow are going to be 'financial sorting out days' seeing as they aren't get sozzled and recover days. Might as well be productive somewhere.
