I keep cards from those closest to us and so glad I do because I have the last ones DH sent. Every now and again I go through and ditch some more, ie I get rid of ones Mum and Dad sent in previous years to replace with current ones iyswim.

    Oooooooooooooooo what????????????????? :D

I'm so glad you have these. I always keep ones from nearest and dearest and the oldest relatives. There is something very moving about seeing handwriting that you will not see anything new written in.

Made turkey, gammon and leek pie tonight which went down extremely well. All turkey and gammon now used up (and the end of the pot of cream), we have done really well at having no waste food.

Loads of The Good Life programmes on BBC2 tonight from 8pm so I'm going to do a little bit of ironing with them and then restart my knitting which has gone wrong.

I did this and am so glad as We lost both Dads over the past two years and I can bring them out so we have cards that say mum and Dad on them so it feels like they are still here. I know its sad of me but I don't care

    Not sad at all.

Greenbee how are you feeling this evening? Good luck for tomorrow, do you need a flylady bus?

I'm OK thanks. A bit nervous, but I've had a quiet day today (I've done nothing... not even washed or dressed) reading trashy novels. Plan is to have an early night, do some work in the morning and then take something with me to read... and I've promised I'll call my parents when I get back.

Dusty - seems like you're less of an old hag this evening - hope you manage to stay that way
Greenbee - good luck for tomorrow xxx
    Kezlou- happy birthday !
Piggers - re Freja and the star - is that a star in the sky that's been named after her or what?

It's been a gloopy day weatherwise here - all over cast, misty and damp. But, good news, today was the first day we had FOUR eggs. Each and every one of the chooks produced a gift today. I'm really pleased - it means I must be doing something right! Mind you, I now appear to have quite an egg mountain in the fridge - I shall have to find a neighbour to flog some on to!

Have spent the day writing, writing, writing, writing and done a teeny bit of housework in the form of freezing the remaining turkey meat and boiling up the carcass for stock.

Tomorrow, though, I will make a concerted effort to get out. I haven't been out, apart from a short wander up to the corner yesterday for some milk, since Christmas Eve and the ocassional dog walk. I must NOT get entrenched....

Evening all, well i got my table and chairs and i love them. Was down with the furniture man at 1.30, picked them out by 2 and had them here at 4 so not bad going.:j:j:j

Rhys has been a bit grumpy today but has kept everything down that he's eaten. Fingers crossed he'll be back to normal tomorrow and we won't get it.:)

Water came back on again so wm and dw both on, seems there is alot of burst pipes everywhere in Northern Ireland so i'm not looking forward to the next couple of days.

Got some really sad news today, an old boyfriend from high school hung himself sometime today he leaves behind his partner and 2 young children, one is still just a baby. He was only 32 and a lovely fella.

    Dusty big hugs.
    Hex what a nightmare.
    Mumof2 Big hugs.
    Greenbee good luck for tomorrow.
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

  • Did all the ironing last night and put away [which is the bit I hate most] not done much else to day .

tomorrow will tackle the lounge and conservatory.

once all the Christmas decs have been put away at weekend I want to give entire house a good clean and de-clutter. although looking at the state of my car [its black with all the muck of roads]that should be my priority!
