    Hi All!
Quite an intense day today, but only because I made it so, updating some databases for my business. Doing it a bit at a time, FL style, unfortunately got carried away and spent several hours at it. Got a sore head now!! It's either the screen or I need new glasses! Listened to Nella Last's war on audiobook while I was doing it. Not read it before but saw it in the audiobook section at the library and borrowed it. It's very good.
Getting a bit frustrated with family in chill mode. Hardly a thing cleaned up, just mess made, and DH is absorbed in playing computer games and just keeps telling me I'm supposed to be on holiday... relax. Also, am I the only person in this house that can answer the door???
Welcome to all new flyladies BTW. You'll be amazed at how quickly your home improves once you start!
Dusty Thank you for the recipe for Spelt bread. I have some flour in the cupboard but not got round to doing it yet. Will give it a go. Glad you're feeling a bit better. I had that moment last night and took myself to bed!
Crafty I tend to keep precious Christmas cards ie from my dad etc, but use the rest next year for gift tags etc. They go in my wrapping paper box.
Hex Blah. What a PIA. Hope it gets sorted out soon
Vanilla Hope the wee lad improved today.
Mumof2 <<huge hugs>> same to Lamewolf and anyone who needs them
Kezlou Happy Birthday. Hope you've had a lovely one!!!
    Triker :rotfl::rotfl::T:T:rotfl::rotfl:Levelled up!!!
Saving up £25000/£3500 by Jan 1st 2012 by selling my clutter. Remember I'm doing it for Dad.
Textiles, languages, travel and a lovely home are not stupid things to want. You have immediate family's support.Appreciate what I've achieved so far. Other people's opinion of me is none of my business.

All dailies done including HHI. Had pleasant morning with friends and their 2 teenagers.
Downstairs is immaculate, but upstairs is another story.
I've just had a shower, now need to straighten hair, put full slap on and get dressed. This will mean the bathroom and bedroom in even more of a mess than they were before. I just seem to leave a trail of devastation....
Anyway, then off out to try a new curry house with some friends.

Hugs to all that need them.

Productive day. It was wonderful to walk into the kitchen this morning and just put the kettle on. It sparkled!

Walked dog and went flying on ice. Now I have matching bruises on both hips. Joy. At least I didn't sprain my ankle again - Off skiing on Sunday.

2 x wm and hung, 3rd in. Venison strogannof in SC (experimental recipe) Prepped for Chilli to go in SC overnight.

Bathroom and Cloakroom scrubbed :j, DH hoovered all except LR (washing and Xmas tree make it a bit of an obstacle course)

    Now to pack.

  • Note: it is important that you don't over-knead spelt dough.

    2 teaspoons dry yeast
    1 2/3 cups warm water (105° to 110° F)
    1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon melted butter (or ghee)
    1 teaspoons sea salt
4 cups spelt flour (use any combination of whole or white spelt)

Combine the yeast, water and honey in a large warm bowl. Let stand for 10 minutes or until the froth has started to appear. Stir in the butter and salt and 3 cups of the flour. Stir vigorously with a wooden spoon. Add the remaining flour in increments until the dough becomes too stiff to stir, then place the dough on a lightly floured surface. Knead very gently to combine the flour, adding any remaining flour as necessary, until the dough becomes smooth and elastic. Do not over knead.

Place the dough in a greased bread pan. Cover and let rise in a warm, draft-free spot for about 2 hours or until doubled in bulk.

I have an AGA and it takes about 15 minutes in the bottom to cook but I guess cook just as you would a usual loaf.

Thanks will attempt that at some point soon

I keep cards from those closest to us and so glad I do because I have the last ones DH sent. Every now and again I go through and ditch some more, ie I get rid of ones Mum and Dad sent in previous years to replace with current ones iyswim. :D

I did this and am so glad as We lost both Dads over the past two years and I can bring them out so we have cards that say mum and Dad on them so it feels like they are still here. I know its sad of me but I don't care

Plus spend the afternoon in the pub playing pool, then come home for curry and chips.

And find that the bulb blowing in the new oven has obliterated the entire house lighting circuit [/confused]

Interesting... you might want to inspect your electrics closely and check that you do actually have a separate cooker circuit and that your oven is attached to it ;)
