Just for info, "the works" today had sweet jars with soft toy type santas and snowmen on the lids in the sale for 99p. They're only plastic, but look quite good so I've bought a load with the idea of doing some homemade sweets next year.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

I am not the slightest bit arty or crafty so I gave nothing home-made. However I received some blackberry and elderberry jam. Not yet tried and some sloe gin which I have tried and . Itried sloe gin for the first time last month with some I bought but the home brewed is loads better.

ETA- Well this tempted me to go and get my jam and try it just now and I have and it is lovely. More of a jelly than a jam, which MIL did tell em cos she's not keen on the seeds. However the pretty xmas top she'd put on fell off and the jar reads pickled mussels. I won't tell her, but I wonder if someone could point me in the right direction of pretty jars and I'll buy MIL some as a thank you.

After seeing everyones fantastic homemade ideas last year and this year. I decided to make hampers for everyone. The best bit was that all the hard work was done in September leaving me to put it all together at the end of November. I really enjoyed doing them and so thank you to everyone who posted up pictures - it really inspired me to have a go.

    Here's one of mine.

  • Home made gifts went down a storm, both sisters, nephew and parents loved the things we made. My mum even told my dad that the chocolate truffles were poison and to keep his hands off them.

I used some jars I bought from Ascot, but this year I bought 18p jars of beetroot from Morrisons - the jars were perfect and I saved on postage!
