Froddington - What is that nativity scene called? I want to stitch a nativity at some point (though perhaps not for next year as I've just done a large Christmassy design) and I love that one you have there. The colours are so vibrant.

Ruth_honey that Titanic cross stitch is fabulous, I can see why it took such a long time to stitch, there is so much detail.:T
Thank you! Every single square is stitched and I did it on evenweave. Shouldn't have bothered changing the fabric with that one. There really was no point. It hangs in my living room above the sofa & several people have commented that they thought it was a photo. :)

Ruth_honey - that calories picture looks great - shame on you for putting temptation in my way :rotfl::rotfl::T
Sorry...:o Think I might experiment with some hand dyed fabric when I start stitching it.

Ruth I love that Pair Tree design. I've not seen it before but have just spent a couple of minutes finding all the pairs in the design. Oooh I really want to stitch it now...

My Giraffe and baby is coming on really well thanks to my efforts last night, I won't be working on it tonight though as I need to sand and recoat the bathroom floor. If I get that done then I need to sand the walls of the box room ready to paint it hopefully tomorrow. I'm really pleased with house progress since hubby moved out though. It's looking great if I do say so myself, I've been able to clear out lots of the pointless clutter too.

Thanks. I saw it stitched up at the Nimble Thimble and it looks much nicer in real life too. I have a feeling that Chris (owner of the shop) mentioned something about there being an odd one out on that tree. Must have a closer look.

Well done on the DIY progress. Every cloud and all that...
I'm quite handy with the flat packs if you are getting new furniture. ;)

Welcome to all the new members, by the way. Pull up a chair and have a cuppa...:coffee:

  • Hi everyone, I'm hoping to join you ladies. I have been lurking on the old thread since the beginning of December, but I thought I'd post here as it is a new start and there's less to catch up on! I've answered all the questions below, but I can't do pictures.

    1. Current project you are working on?

Bothy Threads Cut Thru Noah's Ark. A lot of stitching in this one, but I got a lot done before Christmas, so all I have left to do is the sea. (And then a huge amount of backstitching, but I don't like to think about that !)

    2. Favourite project (either stitched or awaiting to be stitched?)

Winnie the Pooh with Eeyore, Tigger, and Piglet under an umbrella. Can't think what it's actually called! I completed it when I was 15 and it was the first cross-stitch that I ever managed to finish, so I was really proud of it :)

    3. Your favourite cross stitch magazine (nb do you subscribe?)

I don't get a magazine, I just read them if they come my way!

    4. best stitching gadget?

I like my big hoop, but I miss my stand and rectangular frame that got snapped when we moved house in the summer.

    5. french knots - hate or love ?

    Don't really mind either way.

    6. Favourite theme to stitch (i.e. pooh / tatty ted / HAED etc)

Always childish type themes, but I've decided to do something grown up once Noah's Ark is finished. Time for a change.

    7. aida or evenweave ?

Aida for me, but I've never tried evenweave.

    8. favourite needlecraft supplier ?

Wherever I can find what I'm looking for at the cheapest price!

I'm going to try and keep up with this thread, it should give me an incentive to get my projects finished. It seems like everyone on here has done some great stuff, it's inspiring me to get back to stitching now Christmas is over :)

Ok, I give in. I'm going to put another movie on and do some more stitching. I've sanded and varnished the bathroom floor, and finished the tin of varnish therefore it must have been the last coat. I've done some filling in the bedroom and need that to dry before I can sand, and I've realised I can't start painting yet because I need to start with the celing and I forgot to buy white.

I've found the odd sock on the pair tree, and the more I look at it the more I want to stitch it. I also want to stitch this : http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330511679996&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT but I'd rather it were square and framable instead of stocking shaped. Anyone know of anything like it that isn't a stocking? I've tried HAED but all their Christmas designs are of santa rather than nativity scenes.
  • Oh ohh ohhh I found the odd one out too!!

  • The nativity i did for christmas time was from petestreasuretrove dot co dot uk nativity-tapestry-canvas-p-1511 it dosent come with the wool etc and isnt strictly cross stitch but i am sure they has a cross stitch version when i looked earlier in the year. (scuse the link i had to get round the, you are new and potentially spamming so cant post links bot)

I have 3 cut thru kits in my stash and when I finally get round to starting one, I think I'll do the backstitching as I go. There's so much of it that it'll be daunting to do it all at the end.

I'll let you l know when my Sew & So delivery arrives so if anyone needs anything ;) you can PM me.
