yayay fantastic!! they'll prob let you keep the other kit.

I am pretty sure i have in a magazine a double spread of baby motifs if they are any good for creating your own??
I remember for fathers day when i was expecting DS1 I hunted online for small handprints and footprints and made him one from baby using those.

    Now THAT is progress!!!!

I am such a dunce!!!!!!! (has anyone got a pointy hat and a corner to send me too???)

After ordering another data cable incase it was faulty I woke up this morning and remembered.......... my new laptop has a flippity memory card reader. So a quick look in another box to find the adaptor to put the small one in so it fits eh voila - I can now put pics now!!!!!!!

which I will do when DS is in bed!

woooop you can tell christmas is over.......... me and DS1 just bought mini eggs!!! :T and I sware i heard the ice cream man earlier on!!

the ice cream man came here christmas eve and boxing day so we tucked into them lol

he was here this evening aswel (he sells fags, bread etc aswel)

well most of my housework is done so its a cross stitch and dvd day tomorrow :j

I caved in and ordered some of the kits I had in my basket on mouseloft, (Well what is one to do when the forum is down??!!!) most were xmas themed so I will be starting my xmas cards extremely early this year ! :xmassmile

In baby news, I went for this design in the end. Wee Baby Chart

I would still welcome any suggestions for small "new baby" designs - especially if they are designs that can be made into a nice card and are quick / easy / cheap to stitch.

The chart was good value but the materials not so ! (with the linen, threads, button and ribbon costing the small matter of £25!!) so they remained unpurchased and I shall stitch on aida instead! The only extra I ordered was the rattle button :j here is a better picture of the finished design Wee Baby - Example - Finished design - this person hasn't used the ribbon and I think it looks fine. I'm not sure what the thread list will be like and whether I will be able to work out what the anchor or dmc equivalent will be but no matter, I shall just pick threads from my stash if I can't work out what i am meant to use! I'm not paying for threads that I will only use once. I don't know why they are so expensive. :(

Hope everyone has a lovely evening

ps there has been some talk of what you prefer to stitch with - anchor or dmc - I like both and buy both ! I find anchor softer but also like dmc.

i like that its pretty :D

Did a bit of stitching todya but had a carp day overall. M-i-l rang last night to say one of dh's cousin's had died unexpectedly the previous night - she was only 43 :( He was at work till 10pm and can't really be contacted at work as the people he works with (with brain injuries) get really upset by things like that. Had to tell him when he got in about 11pm. He has been feeling dreadful since.

Did manage to get his new car today which is lovely but he really wasn't in the mood - so much so that when he went for a test drive I thought he was going to say he didn't like it!

Sorry for moaning - he has now gone out for the night (having arranged a sleepover for dd and her friend and has rung to say he will be out all day tomorrow too!) Sometimes I do feel a bit fed up but can't really say much under the circumstances :(

  • Hello everyone, just come back from a week in Cornwall so lots of catching up to do! I stupidly forgot to take any cross stitch with me so ended up having to buy a small kit..............like you do.
  • Hey everyone. :)
Been working on my Winnie The Pooh Christmas cards. They are on 18ct aida and primary colours (dark blue/dark green) so back stitching is a bit of a challenge. But am persevering as I've got to get them done out of the way so that I can do something else.
  • hmm im useing 28 count fabric and im doing the x leaving an empty hole between the x so its ... and same up ..is this right ? looking kinda big to me or is it just cause im used to 18 count :)
  • You stitch 28ct evenweave over 2 holes, and it's the same as 14ct :) x

    What are you making?
