    Hi all,
Firstly here is the finished tropical fish picture I did for my bathroom it's taken from a book of pattern that I bought at a local charity shop. I think I might have posted it before but you had to tilt your head to view it that time.

Here is the pink lily pattern that I am currently making.

This is my progress so far, there is not much to see really as working my way from dark thread to light so it's very patchy.

Right and here is a Winnie the pooh picture I dug out that I did years ago. I want to give it to my friend for her little boy and add his name and D.O.B.

So first question any advice on how to layout the name and lettering to use, his full name is
Joshua James Lhuviniu Paulam Healy born 10th December 2010 I was going to use one of the styles on this site.
    http://www.stitchpoint.com/eng/tool/alph/_alphabet_generator.php

Second problem is that it is badly stained so need advice on how to get them out without the colours running. I've low temp machine washed it and hand washed it, so far with no luck

    Thanks in advance, Niamh

ummm can you post a full picture of the design so that we can see how much aida you have available ?

I don't have any suggestions on how best to remove the stains.. Someone else here might or you could try posting on the old style board as I am sure they have a "how to clean????? knowledge book up their sleeves...:rotfl:

for the lettering - not sure either. thats rather a long name.....

I did have some winnie the pooh chart books and if i can  where they are then I will see if they have any pooh alphabets in
  • Thanks for sharing that Sweetcarer, but it said that my username and email addresses were already in use, which has left me with a bit of an uneasy feeling, so I think I will leave it.

Though I wouldn't mind a nudge of the Kiss Chart as Ellie already sent me the Hug Chart. :o

Just thought I'd show you my challenge of the week, which is to finish the back stitch and sew on some red "holly berry" beads. This work of art from Bothy Threads has just been finished by my mum, who at 87 can still manage to knock out great pics on 14 count. She just has no patience with the finishing off.

MA, I love the funky fairies - remind the "little monsters" to put them on the tree next Christmas. Did you stitch or stick them onto the felt ?(sorry I'm so nosey).

    Linda xx

    Hi

Apologies for not getting back to you before now, but I had to go away and think about this, having slept since then :-)

We used double sided iron-on interfacing to attach the stitching to the felt. There are two pieces of felt stitched together with the ribbon stitched in between them.
