I  my OH very much but he is training for a marathon so goes on these really long runs. I don't mind because it means I have lots of quiet time stitching while he is out running :j:j:j

No luck finding the seed beads so probably going to use the off red beads I have. must finish it rather than leave it in my UFO project folder.... :rotfl:

Shelly, the mice are lovely :D:D:D. I love the little one holding the balloon in the front :D

I'm sure I have some red seed beads I can send to you. What shade of red do you need? And roughly how many?

Little monkey! Nearly bed time :) Yummy needle sandwiches!

I hate new needles - I have my favourite one! (Sad!) It's got a little bend in it now though, and I am scared for it's life!

LOL @ all the needle love :rotfl:

My current one is about a year old, it 'was' gold but it has worn down a bit and is all lovely and smooth passing through the holes:D:o

Hi Louise, stunning work on Touched by Magic!
I have a HAED chart that I bought a 'few' months ago and am trying to pluck up the courage to decide whether to stitch on evenweave or aida. Am I right in thinking you stitch on aida? which count? how many stitches wide and deep is this one?
The one I have is Beggar Princess and is 400W x 728H
    (16 x 29 inches on 25ct).
Sorry for all the questions but I am determined that by the end of the year I will of at least started it!
Thanks to you and all the ladies on here who inspire me.

Tbh mine were all recommended for evenweave but I have a little rule: 'if you can't see any background then it doesn't matter' :D so I just stitched it on 14ct aida :j

This one is 400 stitches wide by 200 high, yours is going to be massive but she will be stunning:T

'If' I was to stitch her I would probably choose 16ct aida....for my eyesight, if not my sanity :o:rotfl:

  • Brilliant progress Catchooky....everyone seems to stitch so quickly and neatly...xx
    ;)I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY;)
  • Had to put stitching away for the night as one of the colours I am stitching just doesn't seem right. I am stitching Balloo's nose and it should be dark cream...well the thread I have for dark cream doesn't seem to match the picture....I checked all the other threads in case I had labelled them wrong, but it seems to be the only one which I could have choosen, so decided to leave it till daylight and have a better look before stitching anymore...xx

    Hey all,
Wow doesn't the thread move fast these days. You miss a few days and then you are 6 pages behind.

Hubby has wanted to go to New York for years and after thinking about it for ages we have finally booked to go in May. We will be there for 5 days and during our anniversary so it makes it doubly nice to go.

NYC sounds fab, the revolving bar at top of Marriott Hotel is a lovely way to see the NYC skyline as long as it's not a cloudy evening, although drinks are very expensive. Also if you like musicals like I do then Ellen's Stardust dinner in Time Square is a must. It is staffed by waiters that want to get into broadway and they sing requests for tips while you eat. Food quite reasonable there and excellent atmosphere.

Got a part time supply position til July 2 mornings and one full day a week. An hr commute but worth it as regular hrs = regular pay:j. The school seems lovely and today's classes were very well behaved. Will find out later if they are really that nice or giving me a honeymoon period before testing my boundaries.

Will get around to posting finished fish pic once I can take a photo in daylight forgot at the weekend. I've also started this http://www.yiotas-xstitch.com/freebies/pink-lily-free-cross-stitch-pattern for my bf's mother for her 60th birthday. Can't remember who originally posted the link on the old 2010 thread, but had it in my bookmarks so thank you very much according to bf it's ideal and the sort of thing she would like he thinks the samplers I found were all a bit too twee (Having said that maybe he was just saying that as the pattern is free and we are only paying for the frame as the threads are from my stash-the labour time I put in doesn't seem to count in his cost evaluation).
Only started it they other day so no point in getting a pic yet as it looks a bit spotty with random bits of the darks green thread dotted all over the fabric and I must remember to take one at weekend before it gets dark.

i meant to get a pen in Knit & Sew on sat, but totally forgot. so i'm back to noodling around following the different colours. hell, it works for now.

i'm random. i never can do something the 'easy' way if there's a more interesting way i can take instead!! :o

If it makes you feel any better, I bought a water soluble fabric pen ages ago, managed to lose it before I ever got to use it. I found it again while sorting through the my and bf's DVD stash for doubles to donate to charity. Unfortunately this was after I had spent 2 hours using thread to mark the grid for the pink lily design:mad:. Silly me, need to buy a decent sewing box for my equipment me thinks.

Sorry my posts are always so long, but I type as I talk inceassantly.

    Cheapcycle???? Ooooh, do share!

It's just an offshoot of Freecycle/Freegle. Godsend actually. I also like the Freegle Cafe, bit like these forums, but local.
I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.
