  • Oh dear - we're very sad, and should stop discussing our needle love immediately :)

I wish I could go to bed... i've been there all day and have just got up... ergh, I feel like poo :(
  • Hi Louise, stunning work on Touched by Magic!
I have a HAED chart that I bought a 'few' months ago and am trying to pluck up the courage to decide whether to stitch on evenweave or aida. Am I right in thinking you stitch on aida? which count? how many stitches wide and deep is this one?
The one I have is Beggar Princess and is 400W x 728H
    (16 x 29 inches on 25ct).
Sorry for all the questions but I am determined that by the end of the year I will of at least started it!
Thanks to you and all the ladies on here who inspire me.

Well I have found my stash of seed beads apart from the red seed beads that I want ! and know I have ! I will not go to sew n so or ebay to buy more! I've decided though that where the exclamation dots go (after the word "birthday" and before the word "may" that I shall probably use gold beads and only use red beads to note the exclamation mark and to dot the "i"s and black beads for Snap's eyes. :j

I have the cat version so I am looking forward to stitching that too.

I am going to be a busy bee with birthday projects for friends so think row of cats is going to take a back seat.

Planning to stitch a really cute design for a friend who celebrates a special birthday this year _party_

and I am intending to stitch (individual) pooh, eeyore and tigger for another friend. these might go in coasters or a notepad block. This might end up being her xmas present though !!

Also have valentines and anniversary card to stitch for the OH. :kisses3:

Have another quiet weekend planned so stitching time all lined up although really must try to do some housework this weekend !!

    Hi folks,

Glad to see that you all survived the festive season and that stitching has continued in spite of bad weather, sickness, family invasions etc.....

I did do the little monsters a Xmas decoration each - http://s618.photobucket.com/albums/tt268/rowantanner/?action=view&current=FunkyFairies-Dec2010.jpg - but they had so much stuff I'm not sure that they actually realised what they were.

Anyway, must crack on so big Zen hugs to all who want or need them, and I am lurking and admiring what you are all doing.

    Best wishes.

    Ro

MA, I love the funky fairies - remind the "little monsters" to put them on the tree next Christmas. Did you stitch or stick them onto the felt ?(sorry I'm so nosey).

mrs-moneypenny - oh no! i dont know if i could have carried on with such a horrid mistake and such a long time to correct it. you're made of sterner stuff than me!

hello nannon - not at all too late.. we work to our own time scales on challenges as some of us stitch fast (*Louise*) and some of us stitch slow (me). we do natter on a bit, and we love to see piccies (yes that's a hint!)

I LOVE the idea of stitching The Great Atuin. with the amazing art done by Kirby(?) i'm surprised on one has made commercially before. I'm reading 'Folklore of the Diskworld' at the moment, then plan on getting back into the series... i'm very very behind!

I always do it now, it makes stitching SO much easier (and faster), I dunno why everyone isn't converted yet :rotfl::rotfl:

i meant to get a pen in Knit & Sew on sat, but totally forgot. so i'm back to noodling around following the different colours. hell, it works for now.

i'm random. i never can do something the 'easy' way if there's a more interesting way i can take instead!! :o
I hate new needles - I have my favourite one! (Sad!) It's got a little bend in it now though, and I am scared for it's life!

i've used the same gold needle for the last 3 months... i sat down to start the Lemon Bowl last night, stood up to go get something and promptly found i'd lost the needle. soo irritating. luckily there was one in the kit - a DMC one, but i find them a little short, esp compared to my fav gold needle. :( gosh, never though i'd admit something like that out loud!!:rotfl:

oh, my OH and i were suposed to have a nice movie night last night (men who stare at goats, free on the telly), but he accepted some mission in Eve (either his online space game, or a good cover for some online nookie!!), and ended up being on his computer ALL evening - only stopping for 25min to eat the lovely dinner i'd made him.

but i wasn't really mad, as i got to do lots of lovely relaxing stitching. and my Lemon Bowl is staring to take shape.:D

  • I haven't done much stitching the past few days, but am going to start again tonight..

I am heading out tomorrow to a midwife appointment...although rather annoyed as just found out tonight that the Healthy Eating in Pregnancy Grant of £190 has stopped and I missed out on it by a few days....well, it's as well we weren't having a baby just for the money...

I intend to stitch stockings this year as Christmas presents and am near dead to start my Uncle's Snoopy one, so will sort out what threads and material I need and hopefully get it tomorrow while I am out..

I like to have two projects on the go at once so as I don't get bored with just one...xx
    ;)I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY;)

I  my OH very much but he is training for a marathon so goes on these really long runs. I don't mind because it means I have lots of quiet time stitching while he is out running :j:j:j

No luck finding the seed beads so probably going to use the off red beads I have. must finish it rather than leave it in my UFO project folder.... :rotfl:

Shelly, the mice are lovely :D:D:D. I love the little one holding the balloon in the front :D

    :hello:Hi
well all good intentions and that, I was going to start on my Tenby Harbour at the weekend, but felt really rotten, so all I managed to do was put my stand together (took several attempts - am hopeless at reading instructions!), put the fabric onto my new frame and sorted my threads onto bobbins - all 51 of them!

Next step is to mark it out then I can finally start!

Decided to spend the rest of my xmas cash so took the plunge & ordered the Rainbow Peacock from the US site crossstitchworld - it was $27.99 which included $8 shipping & converted to £18.64 - and had an email off them yesterday to say its been dispatched and to expect it in 2-3 weeks so fingers crossed it arrives safely.

Will keep you posted, well done on everyone's progress over the last few days

    Kimmi
