Will check in on Friday evening to see how many thousands of stitches you have all done - if you see me on here in the meantime feel free to:naughty: at me. Sadly stitching doesn't pay my wages (wish it did!)

I picked up some kits and some threads today, from a lovely lady on Freecycle. There is about 6 kits, mostly flowers and birds, which means my MIL's present is sorted. They're lovely as well. There were also about 50 threads, in DMC and Anchor, which has added to my stash nicely :)

That Noah's ark looks gorgeous! Does anyone have a ;) for that one? It'd be fantastic to stitch for my niece when she's a bit older - she's only 18 months now, so she wouldn't appreciate it.

well i've finally started something other than small mottos, which is all i've stitched for a month!

it's the kit that my mum bought me yesterday that i managed to persuade her to give it to me as an early birthday present!:D

so with my OH out, i indulged in 3 Sex&TheCity episodes and started the Secret Perfume. so far i've almost done the middle lime. (but it was when Carrie meets Alexander and he's soo sexy i had to watch it lots!);)

my OH wants to watch Zen, which i thought was a bit dull, so more good stitching time tonight then :D AND we only just noticed that Larkrise is back too. woo! :j

so whilst i started at the upper right corner of the middle, i went round following the colours within the first shape - so i guess that's how i stitch... oddly!

    Dora - good luck hun!

Appocco - that ark is beautiful! and even more stunning now i realise the charts are black and white! :T

Threads on Freecycle? you lucky people! i gave up with it after soo many no shows to collect stuff... but i might have to have another look!

All that is needed now is the french knots but I think I am going to use seed beads instead. Now to fathom where the red seed beads are....

I've got loads of things from Freecycle/Freegle, especially when we moved into our new house. Only a few stitchy things though, although I got a big hoop with an arm that you sit on off there a while back which has to be the best stitching invention ever :D
  • Rubbish day here, decided to go out on the bargain hunt today as there were sunny skies so no need for the windscreen wipers. But the starter motor has gone on the car, so we're still going nowhere. Now we've got to spend the week searching madly for a new (well, new to us!) car.

Thanks for all the comments on noah's ark, I don't know if no-one's noticed or you're all too polite to say, but the rainbow is totally wrong :o I tried to correct it as I went along, but I should've really unpicked it as it's all wrong. Nevermind, at least mine will be a unique version :rotfl::rotfl:

i had about 17 quid of stuff in my basket, then my mum grabbed it and paid for most of it!! it's my 30th birthday  at the end of the month so she wanted to get me things i actually want, not random stuff. woo mum!! (that means 1 DMC Secret Scent XStitch kit, a big 'tag' cutter and some lovely clear rubber stamps). I still had to pay for some printer paper and a X Stitch kit that i'm going to stitch for a friend for next year.

Hope you have a lovely birthday, early presents are always good :) That was nice of your mum, sounds like you had a productive time!

Thanks for the reviews, hopefully no one is too bored of us discussing local things on here :o I'm gutted I missed the bargains, especially the papercraft stuff. I will go down and check out Knit or Sew when we've got transport again, I always like a rummage through sewing stuff!

I think I've marked my chart too heavily or I would have. I've only got the second chart with all the backstitch lines that I haven't coloured all over, but I think that'd be too confusing.

I have the rocket cut thru ready if anyone is interested in a ;) for that one. I have to say it isn't as detailed or as nice as the ark though. I've only got it because my son is desperate for that one for his bedroom.

Flat Eric- that looks good, I'm always amazed how quickly everyone on here stitches!

If you'd not said, no-one would have noticed!

I don't have the kit, so I have no idea where it's *wrong*. I think it looks lovely.

Remember - as one of the faiths says - "Only God is perfect". Everything you make is *supposed* to have one mistake in it.

I hadn't noticed and I still can't tell that the rainbow's wrong! There's always at least one mistake in my stitching, but as you say, that makes it unique ;)

I don't think my niece would be as appreciative of the rocket but thanks anyway ;) I photocopy my charts before drawing on them. Well, I scan them onto my work laptop at home and when I'm at work, an elf presses the print button. Hehe...
