Finally, can I ask what fellow stitchers do when the piece of aida that has been supplied with your kit has been cut from the edge ? (so instead of having four edges to stitch up - you only have three because one is the edge of the material thus will not fray.) I guess I still have been given enough to stitch the design ? but it always worries me....
The edge you are talking about is called a selvedge (sp?) I wouldn't worry as they will have measured from just inside this. I zig zag stitch all of my pieces of aida or evenweave on my sewing machine so that the edges don't fray.

Have been and got the 2 colours I needed for Rocky point and they were 75p a skein:eek: Might go through my boxes and start filling the gaps in to collect the whole range from Across town as I found 75p a real shock! Was good though and just bought that and some curtain header tape until I went to the wool shop with my friend and bought some flamenco wool for a scarf- I do not need any more wool:o
Right have caught up , am going to have a quick look on FB at the cross stitcher thread. I personally like it as I have got so many things framed I fancy doing something different to pictures and I love sewing, knitting and doing other textile projects so tbh it appeals to me more than it did. I used my Tesco points to subscribe in Dec before the values changed but I still haven't had my first issue. Does anyone know how long it usually takes for this to start?
    Happy sticthing everyone

Yes, I knew I remembered it! I must have it somewhere but as it's not in the actual magazine, it must be in my unsorted pile of random stuff.

I have still to sort all my mags out. Bad girl!!!

I did all mine before Christmas. I looked through each magazine, made a note on the front of which designs I might at some point want to do, logged them all in a spreadsheet, noting which brand magazine it was and which issue and then put all my magazines in those magazine boxes.

All I have to do now is put the box numbers into my spreadsheet and I'm done.

OCD is a very scary thing ;)

Would you please please STOP showing me all these lovely designs and STOP putting ideas into my head...I have enough stash to last forever, and I still keep adding to my to do pile...and IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT !!!!

    PS...Only joking...lol

Lol, that's exactly how I'm feeling. Every day I see a new post about something that interests me, lately its the LOVE and HUGS. I'll have to devote every minute of my spare time to stitching to get done everything I want to start.

That's what my hubby does with his magazines, way too organised for me!
Although I have just purchased a lovely notebook so I can write down all the new ideas that I'm getting from this thread. I wouldn't want to forget any of the things I want to stitch! It's also got ideas for all the other crafty makes I want to do this year. I do find I'm brilliant at writing to do lists (usually very neat and pretty lists, always in a very pretty notebook), but I'm somehow not so good at the actual DOING part of the to do list :rotfl:

I was looking forward to some crafty shopping yesterday but thanks to our car it didn't happen :( The windscreeen wipers have decided they don't work at all anymore, along with numerous other problems, so hubby has deemed the car a death trap and won't take me anywhere! On the plus side being stuck in the house always = stitching time :)
  • I managed to sit down to do some stitching yesterday, after it seemed many things wanted to go wrong, almost including the stitching, but I was able to save it!

    More today hopefully. :o

the 'love and hugs' do nothing for me........ just not my cuppa tea. I *think* i have the hugs pillow chart somewhere tho - will really need a stash sort out today as its a freebay listing day according to paypal.

i managed to make a start on princess palace last night. Decidided as i can't be botheredd to gridline it I am just gonna do blocks of 10 at a time. Almost completed the whole bottom row (5 high x 90 wide) last night while watching derren brown (jeez that man scares me he is FARRRR to freeky. I like magicians when I know how they do the tricks (or watch magicians secrets so i can se how its done) but I don't think I will EVER get into his mind!!!
Anyways the grand master plan is to stictch a page of palace at a time in blocks of 10 then move onto next page. however I am going to do ALL the bottom row off all pages then the furthest edge all the way to the top cause then i can cut the aida without having a panic attack!! At the moment it is HUGE thankfully the aida is so freash and new that it is all starchy and stays out of my way.

STILL waiting for my sew and so order that was dispatched on Tuesday..... humph wonder where thats got to!! are posties still doing sunday deliveries to clear backlogs??

Tis sooo icy here I've been banished to house arrest...... hmm wonder if DS wants an all day nap??? I have a real urge to clean and tidy the entire house tho (i think i am sick!) so could rope him into helping me with that. then i better take the christmas cards down that i forgot were up as they are hanigng over the dvds in the storage cabinet.

now - dippy eggs or fried eggs for brekkie??
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:
