    Okay everyone...I need to ask you all a very important question...

    Would you please please STOP showing me all these lovely designs and STOP putting ideas into my head...I have enough stash to last forever, and I still keep adding to my to do pile...and IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT !!!!

    PS...Only joking...lol
    ;)I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY;)
  • Only just got in from town, and have to be at work at 6 so just having a quick catch up and a cuppa.

    One of our local craft shops, C&H Fabrics was having a closing down sale, but was very MSE and only bought the two threads and the water-soluble pen that were on my shopping list.

    Was mostly reverse shopping so hardly spent anything today :T

    Can just squeeze half an hours stitching in before I get ready, have a lovely Saturday night everyone x

    Snaps the Dog - pm 8 Jan by Flat Eric on Flickr, on Flickr

    He is all done now apart from his back stitch and the lettering :j Not sure how much more will manage today but he should be finished before the weekend is out if I don't get bored with the lettering and the french knots don't send me crazy...

    Have a lovely evening all.

    Actually I would really love the Circus abc if anyone has them...I would like to do my baby's name...we have picked Jaxon, and also just the one letter for my niece R..

    So if anyone has A J N O R X....I would really appreciate them...Thanks...xx

    The alphabet is coming out one letter at a time and we are on letter F. That is an unusal name Jaxon. I am going to try and download the letters that have come out already from the craft circle website for myself and anyone who needs ;)

    Taking a break from doing work - I hate data entry stuff. It is so repetative.

    Off to my former mother in laws birthday party later. First time new hubby has met my late husbands family. Hope they are not awkward with him, they can be with me - which hurts. Won't be there long - hubby put in in the diary at work for the night off, they said they couldn't give him it as he put in last years diary and they are now using this years diary. He put in at the beginning of december before the new diary came out - grrrrrrrr.

    Kind wishes to all

    sweetcarer ;)

    Shame I can't stitch as quick as you though as i would have finished it in the last few hours rather than just done another few inches of sky! :rotfl::rotfl:

    Tell me about it when came on here first i only had one horrid ufo to finish and just the odd kit i wanted to do .
    I finished the ufo and a princess kit and a monkey one for my grandaughters and have a calender bears almost finished and 12 kits stacked neatly awaiting their turn and a pile of charts all waiting for a turn. oh and 2 bunnies and a cat with bibs to do

    Does anyone know the secret of eternal youth as i think i'll need to live forever.

    eta just been over to the crossstitcher magazine page on facebook - I'm :eek: at the strength of feeling. I'm not sure if Cross Stitcher have removed some of their posts because it doesn't seem like the conversation follows properly ? particularly the comments about the alphabet.

    What do you all think about the Cross Stitcher Mag ? I have subscribed for years and since I get the mag and read it about 6 months after I get it :o, I am a bit out of touch with the new style etc.

    i think you're right about the strength of feeling - i couldnt believe that some people were swearing at them! that's bang out of order i think. what got my goat was the flippant replies they started giving people who'd taken the time to provide well written (non-swearing) feedback... XStitcher mag was not very nice and certainly not professional.

    Wow Lovecrafting...that's great progress...

    i'm really intrigued to see that you seem to stitch one whole block of 10 high accross first... dont all the loose threads get on your nerves? or do you end and cut them? (i couldnt be bothered to do that!)

    I find that once I get a good start on a kit then it finishes in no time...It is finding the time to sit and have a couple of hours peace to actually get started...lol

    tell me about it! the first stitch is always very much the hardest for me!

    i've got 5 pages of small to med flower designs i could email you? pm me if you'd like them.

    :rotfl: i first came here to ask how to do something on a small kit that i'd got... lone stitches i think... anyway, look what's happened! i'm a bit obsessed with stitching now and havent done any freehand emboridery in SOOOO long!:o

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    re quotes - i think i've a good system... i 'multi quote' the first 3 i want to reply to. then i right click on the 3rd choosing the 'open new tab/window' option, and let it do that. i carry on with the next three (MSE deletes the earlier ones first so i dont need to do that), and repeat as above. so i've now however many windows/tabs open with 3 quotes in each... i write my replies ect and then copy and paste them into one window. hit 'submit', check it's worked then close all the rest. :D Simples.
    I end and cut them. i always do a block of ten and then do the same again all the way up if that makes sence.
    blablabla.jpg
    like that, its a bit of an a** over t*t way of doing it but it makes it easier when doing the backstitch because i can backstitch the top left quater before going on to the top right corner then the bottom left and so on, i know you are supised to backstitch when you have finnished but i hate it with a passion so it breaks it up a bit, it also stops me getting bored with doing one thing at one time because its like doing differnt kits at the same time.
    or, i just like making it harder for myself. im undecided on that one, i just do it that way by habbit, my nanna taught me like that
    if that's what works for you, then thats peachy! (personally i like following a colour wherever that block of colour wanders off to... and feel it helps create a good 'weave' of thread that will help hold the fabric together for hundreds of years! :rotfl:like 'they' say our work wont last as well as those old samplers as we tend to do / / / then \ \ \ to make X X X, not working full X X X . tee hee, now it's me getting paranoid!
