look for 'crossstitcher magazine' and it'll come up. I agree there is lots of negative feeling over there but there is also a sensible person stating that any change is going to divide the readership and perhaaps only the unhappy ones are speaking up. Either way I know I don't like the new version and I've canceled my subscription. (anyone want to e-mail me the letter each month when it comes out on the subscriber only part of the website? it's about the only thing in the mag I'm interested in now.)0

wow.......... has taken me 2 hours but I have sorted my threads for princess palace. I converted all the colours to DMC and managed to find I had over half in my stash (oops). Then I looked at the others to see if i had the anchor equivalent (another few ticked off). then I found this convertor/ shade matcher in pic2point and was able to make up all the others. (word of worning tho it throws up some funny similarities....... I.e. telling me a baby pink was similar to a baby blue.)
YAYAY I can make a start now!!!! I normally start in the middle of the aida - however this bit will be bigger then i need but i don't want to cut it (vezzzy scared or getting it wrong) so think I may work from a corner instead. the bottom seems to go all the way accross (if you see what i mean) so think that may be a good place.
come on postie i need my bigger hoop. our post is proper up the creak. we've been getting up-to-date stuff then all of a sudden yesterday DH got the Blackburn Rovers CHRISTMAS catalogue and I got a credit card statement dated 19th December (glad I have direct debit set up) so if you are waiting on anything it looks like they are scraping the bottoms of the bags now.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
FYI alll - if you check out the 1st page our fav links post is now live......... thanks Kezbabybabe that was REALLLY helpful........ have added a few at the bottom i thought may come in handy.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0

WOW I haven't posted in a few days, but I have read all the replies and I am now caught up.
A few quotes, which I have snipped down to cut down on the old pixels.
But before I start, I have just sent off an e-mail to origin, as I am not a happy bunny!
They e-mailed me with an offer I couldn't resist.... 'subscribe to the World of Cross Stitching and get thios free Coronation Street kit FREE' about a week or so ago, and being a fan of the Street I thought I'd take them up on that offer.
However, imagine my face today when an envelope that had 'Coronation Street kit' above my name and address on the label, dropped through my letterbox! 'Wooohoooooo I thought, I can put away the stupid printed linen cross-stitch and make a start on this', a GREAT excuse to put it away.
THEN.....
Imagine my face when I took out the 'Coronation Street kit' only to find it was........... 'Winter on the Green - Scene estivale'.
I AM NOT HAPPY!!
So I have sent off a humorous e-mail to them, hoping I have the right e-mail address, as there was NO e-mail contact on the site, so I just hit the reply button on their confirmation e-mail lol
/end of rant!Incidentally I have as mentioned before have no interest in stitching the celebrity stitches that feature in the cross stitch mags so if there is someone famous you want to stitch then pm me with your details and I will send you the chart if i have it. I'm not interested in making money from them (so won't be selling on ebay) so they are free to anyone who is interested. If anything, make a donation to charity for the
Thank you for the offer, I will bear that in mind, I wouldn't mind trying a couple, though I don't know who they have done in there since I haven't had any mags for YEARS lol
But if I need one I will PM you to see if you have it availiable!I'm tempted, but am also tempted with the Rainbow Peacock, not sure if I'm brave enough to order from a US site though, but it will be at least £10 cheaper than a UK site, has anyone else bought from overseas?
I have bought memory wire from Hong Kong before also I recently won $25 worth of stuff from an American site, okay the US stuff was free, but I had no problems with ordering from overseas at all. And I certainly would again if it works out cheaper!kezbabybabe wrote: »Gone through my stuff and this is my Project List:

Not sure if this is the right place to ask about this or not - if not please can someone head me off to the right place.
OH offered to buy me a PC program for Christmas to convert pictures to cross stitch charts. We had a look around, but as he only had the bright idea just before Christmas and we were struggling to work out what was best, so thought we would put it on hold until now.
I'm just looking for a program that will chart a basic picture rather than using it for giving an excellent result for a very complicated picture - I can always move on to that later if I find I use a more basic program more often. I usually work on smaller projects at the moment anyway.
Anything suggested needs to be capable of running on Windows7 or Vista.Work is not my Hobby0
