I think one of those cushion designs were in one of the stitching magazines last year. Going from my list that I have, it might have been in Cross Stitcher issue 226. I can check when I get home, see if it's similar.

It was in Cross Stitcher just before Christmas. I'm at work atm so can't check the issue number, it had the gift tags as the free gift. It's the LOVE cushion that I'm currently stitching. It's a joy to stitch :)

:j:j:jThe birthday fairy has been shopping and got me three michael powell kits to do for our room - three small lighthouse pics - will be next on the list I think after the current chapel one but got to wait till Feb till I can get my mitts on them.

Grrrr at new car - was going to pick it up today and they have just rung to say driver's door latch has broken and door won't shut!!!!!!!
Will need a new latch which won't come till late Monday or early Tuesday so the earliest we can now get it will be Tuesday - am now seriously wondering what is going on with this car?

Got some stitching done today :j
What with hubby starting his xmas hols early, then xmas itself I got out of the habit of doing it everyday, I found it a little hard to get back into :o
Anyway, have finished all the x's so now just have some backstitch to do and I'm done!

Absolutely no idea which kit to start next though.....

I think I might have to re think my opinion of cross stitch magazines. I've always assumed from flicking through the odd issue that I've been given that they're a waste of money. Yet there always seem to be loads of posts on here about all the good stuff in them.

Well no stitching at all done today, I've wasted the day. So once I've picked my daughter up from dancing I'm going to settle myself in front of the tv and get on with it.

they can be. i only buy one if my budget allows and if i KNOW i really want to stitch at least 2 things in it. which then get bookmarked so i dont forget. i figure with the cost of 1 chart only from a shop a mag with 2 is fine value. i try not to let the free gift sway me unless it's a kit that i Really like.

speaking of which, are any of you on Facebook and 'LIKE' Cross Stitcher Magazine?
there's a really big rant going on about the alphabet doubbling up, all the adverts, the silly buttons, and the magazine's responses to all this. it's quite fun, in an odd way. i just waded in too.:o:T

i'm a bit grumpy today and finding it hard to concentrate on anything - the computer is taking hours to 'defrag' so i stupidly keep popping on to it to check...which means i pop in here and the Frugal Living Challenge too. dont feel good for being so useless today.

Decided that stitch, marking, brew is the way to go tonight - that way I feel like I'm having some fun and getting some work done at the same time

threads didn't turn up today for my newton bear eating cake chart so hopefully post person will be here at the crack of dawn tomorrow with me parcel :rotfl: and I can get cracking :D

regardless, don't have to cook again this weekend (apart from breakfast/lunch) so looking forward to a day of relaxing n cross stitch tomorrow and a tiny bit of housework and plenty of cross stitch on Sunday :D

eta just been over to the crossstitcher magazine page on facebook - I'm  at the strength of feeling. I'm not sure if Cross Stitcher have removed some of their posts because it doesn't seem like the conversation follows properly ? particularly the comments about the alphabet.

What do you all think about the Cross Stitcher Mag ? I have subscribed for years and since I get the mag and read it about 6 months after I get it :o, I am a bit out of touch with the new style etc.

Does anyone have the issue numbers handy for any of the emily peacock cushion(s) in any magazines. Iknow I can get the alphabet - I would like to tackle the cushions - they look so colourful and fun.

I have been a subscriber since issue 1 (legacy from my late husband) and don't really want to give it up but I have been disappointed it of late - feel its not just cross stitch but other crafts involved - maybe I am just a plain person - I don't particulary like coloured charts.

I thought I might have time to do some sorting out of my cross stitch magazines this weekend but work have given me work to do at weekend - our contract expires in mid Feb and things have to be done before then - doubt I get paid for it but guess I have to do what boss says. In mid Feb when contract finishes - I get tuped over to the new company - still unsure what I will be doing or where!

Hey - snow is back here - fun and games

    Kind wishes

    sweetcarer ;)

I can't find them on facebook - I get no results for 'cross stitch magazine'

I'm not keen on the recent changes to the magazine - there's too much fiddly stuff in it now. It's more of a craft mag than cross stitch. I can't do 'normal' sewing to save my life :rotfl:so most of the projects are no good for me :(
