Got up at dark o'clock today when H2b left for work. Had my kitchen tiled yesterday so needed to put that back into some kind of order this morning. Sat down with my stitching just as my alarm clock went off, so managed an hour on my cushion before I left for work. First letter is nearly finished so I'm on track for this months challenge.
H2b at football again tomorrow so a quick nip into town in the morning then cross stitch in the afternoon.
Having Sunday lunch at the restaurant we're hoping to hold our wedding breakfast at, so hoping to book it so I can order the invitations next week. Still have so much to do :eek:Married 19th May 2011 to the love of my lifeCross Stitch Cafe Member Number 44CSC Challenge - to complete LEGS by end of December

i'm trying to persuade mum to pick me up & go to colemans on sat - it's her birthday and she'd Love it. but she wants to go to an auction, so i might got alone or on sun. humm decisions decisions...
Bee Inspired is still there in a little courtyard, up from Barclays, though it's moved to a bigger unit at the front. it has an upstairs too. i dont know of anywhere in Corby either. they are nice people, and have good fabric for patchwork but dont sell any Xstitch kits i ever want = which is probably a good thing! i dont know about their thread costs, I'll look next time i'm there. It's worth joining thier 'club' as the newsletter has discount codes and you save points towards cash off.
~ Oh and dont forget Knit or Sew - that was why you were going to Rushden in the first place!
Ah, Bee Inspired! I could not remember what it was called at all. I found the same with the x stitch kits, I ended up buying a really ugly care bear kit to stitch for my daughter as I'd promised I'd pick something for her and there wasn't anything great. I probably won't go Knit or Sew this weekend as I have two cut thrus on the go and really shouldn't get any more bits. If I go in there I won't be able to resist temptation
Oh, and no we were just going to be moving out to one of the villages. I've started looking again, and not surprisingly I can't find anyone that wants to move to Corby (we're council, so have to find an exchange with someone who wants to live here). Where are you moving to, have you been waiting a long while?!
I have started a discussion thread in the Flickr group for the Cut Thru SAL.
It's here http://www.flickr.com/groups/1577253@N21/discuss/72157625763321842/
If you're a member of the group you can post your photo to the group and then put it in the discussion so they are all kept together.
Hope you all enjoy your kits!
I still have no idea how to upload photo's on to flickr. But I will add pictures at the weekend as hubby'll show me what to do when he's got some spare time. I didn't get started on the rocket yesterday as I realised I'd forgotten to sew the rainbow on noah's ark, and I could do that without the new frame. Today's plan is to finish the rainbow and hope my frame finally shows up. I seem to have been waiting ages!
Catchooky, that looks good, I like what you've done so far. And it does look neat!0 -

Morning everyone!!
even though I have told myself that I am not allowed to start a new project until I finish my cut thru, I was wondering if someone could advise me on making a cushion?
You dont use aida do you? I want to do an emily peacock style lettered cushion?
Does anyone have a good tutorial on tapestry cusions, I think I need to use a material that begins with a Z and I think its 10 count!!
Any experienced cushion makers around??
Thanks
Carolineback to comping after a 2 year break!! Mission… to win a gift for all my family for Christmas!0 -
Iggy, you can use whatever you like for a cushion. The larger the 'count' (i.e. the smaller the number of holes per inch) the larger the design will come out. Choose your thread or number of strands based on the coverage you want and the size of each cross. If the design isn't large enough for the whole cushion then use a border fabric round the stitching fabric, or add a stitched border. Just choose what you think looks nice or what you like to stitch on.0

*LOUISE* pm me you email and i can send over 5 pages of Rene Mac designs if you'd like? some look a little more like Will Morris to me, but then i get them 2 confused anyway... if you dont like them you dont have to stitch / keep them!caroline78 wrote: »Okay, haven't really done much stitching the past few days as the house is a mess and I can't focus on stitching when I know I should be cleaning.
So DH is going help tomorrow and we are gonna get house ship shape so I have all weekend to stitch...
me too! good luck! i really need to clean and tidy the house - it's gotten unruly since being ill and xmas ect. am hoping to go quick and have time to set up a new project this afternoon - my brain needs quiet alone time to measure fabric to size!Apocasaver wrote: »If I go in there I won't be able to resist temptation

Carolinei think there's something in the air... i woke up desperate to do a cushion with Emily Peacock style HUG and LOVE on but the shaped letters cut from brightly pattered fabric and appliqued onto the cushion. sorry i cant help with the tapestry cushion idea, i know nothing about them!

I had no idea what Emily Peacock was. I googled it and thought 'oh that looks nice' looking at the kiss and hug design, and then I saw the price  I won't be buying that unless I win the lottery!0

I think one of those cushion designs were in one of the stitching magazines last year. Going from my list that I have, it might have been in Cross Stitcher issue 226. I can check when I get home, see if it's similar.0
