    Hi

I'm feeling rough, got a cold which I can cope with but had really bad ear ache since last night, couldn't sleep and hurts everytime I move or swallow..:(

Thanks to Mags I'm now a member of the flickr group whoohoo! I've tried to load some photos from my phone but need to find the software to put on pc first (thought I already did that) so probably wont put any on until my ufo is done....i think it should be done by this time next week as once I finish work tomorrow I plan a whole weekend of stitching....:j:j:j:j

    See you all later x

No, unfortunately you can't make subsets within groups.

What you could do is either
    • start a new group just for the Cut thru SAL (messy in my opinion because it wouldn't be linked to the main group) or
    • post a discussion thread in the main Flickr group and copy the SAL pictures into that thread so that they're kept together
What do people think? Anyone who's a member of the Flickr group can start a discussion topic and while it might get a bit disjointed chatting on two sites at once I think if you kept it to chatting about the SAL and update photos it would work really well.

I'm happy to start up a couple of threads within the group if that's how people want to do it. We could maybe have one for the monthly challenges as well?

ohh thats a fiddlyfooodle insn't it!!!

Will see what others want, I don't mind.

Oh thats naughty re the Emily Peacock Alphabet  I have sold a tiny amount of cross stitch stuff on ebay but only the odd magazine / or kit I don't like. I haven't sold anything on there for ages though because I'm too scared to get rid of anything in case it might come in useful in the future! If there is a kit I don't like then the material goes in my material box and the threads go in my thread stash :j

I don't agree with sellers who sell individual charts from magazines especially when they are listed as a pdf and not an original chart because its so easy to enter a winning bid and then realise you have bid on something that isn't quite what it seems. :(

Incidentally I have as mentioned before have no interest in stitching the celebrity stitches that feature in the cross stitch mags so if there is someone famous you want to stitch then pm me with your details and I will send you the chart if i have it. I'm not interested in making money from them (so won't be selling on ebay) so they are free to anyone who is interested. If anything, make a donation to charity for the ;)

If you subscribe to World of Cross Stitching then the new issue is dropping through letterboxes (it dropped through mine on Tuesday ?) and I have fallen in love with the Newton's Law Bear/Cake chart . I was naughty and ordered the threads i am missing to stitch him and hopefully they will come tomorrow which means I can sit down this weekend and start him :j

My bookworm I was doing on plastic canvas is in the bin - the thread knotted and I pulled to try to unknot and it ripped the plastic canvas. Opps!

I'm making good progress with Snap the dog though :j

Happy stitching all. I'm hoping to manage some tonight.... (this first week back at work is proving very tiring). will be glad for the weekend and stitching time :D

I've not cross-stitched before, but was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction of making the below image:

I've looked for a pattern but no one seems to want to share :(

Tbh it looks like if you enlarge it you would be able to chart it yourself easily enough, it's a fairly simple design :)

Hav eyou done any charting before?

Lol, Corby is a lot better than it was, certainly for shops :D The swimming pool is good too. It's still a total dive to live in though, we were supposed to be leaving next week but the move fell through so we're stuck here for now!

Is that little stitching shop in Kettering still open? Haven't been there in ages, and it was quite expensive, but it seems to be the nearest place to get anything. Looks like I've persuaded hubby to make the trip to Coleman's on Saturday, so bargains here I come :j

sorry to hear about your move - can i be v.nosey and ask if you were heading far? we're also hopefully about to move (just need to get paperwork done, and put ours out to rent - so glad we havent areadly, we'd be homeless if we had gone by the original move date!)
i'm trying to persuade mum to pick me up & go to colemans on sat - it's her birthday and she'd Love it. but she wants to go to an auction, so i might got alone or on sun. humm decisions decisions...
Bee Inspired is still there in a little courtyard, up from Barclays, though it's moved to a bigger unit at the front. it has an upstairs too. i dont know of anywhere in Corby either. they are nice people, and have good fabric for patchwork but dont sell any Xstitch kits i ever want = which is probably a good thing! i dont know about their thread costs, I'll look next time i'm there. It's worth joining thier 'club' as the newsletter has discount codes and you save points towards cash off.
~ Oh and dont forget Knit or Sew - that was why you were going to Rushden in the first place!

    Girl Pants - i second Louise's idea.

:mad:Hi everyone, i also 'follow' Cross Stitcher Mag on FaceBook and have to say i'm REALLY DISAPOINTED with their reply to one of the other followers comments. I've posted the conversation below for those not on FB...

Michelle RasmussenHow come that the top alphabet in issue 232 and the bottom alphabet in issue 234 are the same? That puzzles me lots!
    • CrossStitcher Magazine We just swap them around and change them every month
    • Michelle Rasmussen Hmm okay. I thought the point was to give two new alphabets every month, not just shift them around.
    • ME: Crosstitcher Mag - that's a very flippant reply, and to have 2 the same only a couple of mags apart is pretty poor planning. am not impressed.

:mad:you can see my reply at the bottom there. I'm sorry, but i can't believe they think it's allright to publish the same pattern so soon! there are so many different possible alphabets out there, and in my opinion was a pretty lame page anyway as there's lots online so it's kinda wasted space. one every few months is fine. BUT NOT THAT.

Picked up my frame and stand today, my erasable pen arrived too, so itching to get started now on Tenby Harbour, but too busy tonight & 2morrow, it will have to wait until Saturday :(

Hopefully I'll have time to upload some photos of what I've done lately aswell!
