Morning ladies - no stitching for last few days for me sadly as I have a lousy grotty cold and my eyes are stinging plus I would have to plug my nose so drips wouldn't land on my work (not a pretty sight) so decided to leave things for a few days. :rotfl:

Right that's enough wallowing in self-pity for now - really must start some household chores :(

    Enjoy your weekend everyone

    Hi Girls

I am home and another year older - thank you all for your kind wishes.

I had a lovely birthday and seeing your chat (yes, I managed to catch up last night, helped me relax before bed) I wanted to let you know about my birthday present. My initals is JHP now (second time round - first hubby died) and as you all know my grandmother died last year. Well my mother in her wisdom gave me my grandmothers engagement ring. Before I didn't realise the connection until I read the enscription inside the engagement ring - WGKM (my grandfather) to JHP (my grandmother) and the date 24.12.41

I am so touched by it - only thing is my finger is a wee bit too big and it only fits my pinky - maybe I will get a chain to put it on.

Holiday was lovely - would recommend seeing Betchley Park and Duxford to anyone. Cambridge was a lovely city. Only thing wrong was the expensive drinks in the hotel - £3.60 for a J20 and £6 for a medium glass of wine - so we didn't buy a drink every night - just did with the water that came with the included meal. The food at the hotel was ok but not the best - it was passable. The breakfast was better. The hotel was comfortable too.

Enough of my moans - just getting ready for my dad to come and take me down to his to get my car (he took it away to get some repair done to it) and also to collect Sam.

Feeling quite tired today - need to work out my sewing. Seen some kits in Cambridge - very touristy, didn't look great quality and expensive. Managed to read most of my book - can't mind title off hand just now - Jill Mansell - new author for me, was only a £1 in the chairty shop.

So kind wishes to all from this old woman

    sweetcarer ;)

    Hello!

It's only taken me about 1an hour and a half to catch up with everything I missed while i've been too ill to be bothered sitting at the PC!!!

I love all the stitching thats been going on. Have picked some more charts from recent magazines for my to do list but her are the pics of what i've been up to for the last week or so...

And finally, TITANIC!!! I got back to that this week. Still some white to go then the backstitch so not much progress. Hopefully though once I've made the Angel Frame up I'll be able to get Titanic finished by the end of the month :rotfl:

Hope you're all having a good weekend xxx

Had a lovely day at crafty saturday - and managed to get dd's birthday present sewn well ahead of time, is a little button doll like this one

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HAPPY-BIRTHDAY-Button-Doll-sewing-craft-kit-/270775090086?pt=UK_Home_Garden_Celebrations_Occasions_ET&hash=item3f0b73fba6

Am really pleased I got it done as her birthday is at the end of September but I wanted to get it done when she wasn't around.

Next project is a lovequilts square using odds and ends of threads but not decided on what pattern yet.
