I NEVER unpick! (And I do make mistakes)

Some faiths say that "Only God is perfect" and that everything that is man made must have a deliberate mistake in it.

My cross stitches have many more than one and so therefore must be divinely approved :rotfl:

23rd Bradgate is in leicestershire, its lady jane greys family estate the house is in ruins but its just glorious open countryside bracken and ferns loads of rock and deer if youre lucky (we were lots of times) the view from old john was stunning you can see for miles.
old john was a windmill but during a bonfire a much loved old miller from the estate was killed so the familty converted the ruins of the mill into a monument to him it looks like a huge beermug sitting on the top of the hill;) you can see it from the ciity centre.
theres your free history lesson for today:rotfl:

as TMIF has just said only you know its not exactly as the pattern said its personalised (well we all know now youve told us but wont grass you up)

I'd forgotten all abot the 'legs' kit until we were in the car a few weeks ago listening to Radio 4! There was a guy being interviewed who does alternative urban cross stitch and DH said he thought cross stitch and burlesque would go together well. Then I remembered I had that kit and another one of a lady in basque and stockings sitting at a dressing table. Rummaged through my stash when we got home and that was my next two kits lined up :)

That guy was Phil Davidson who runs Urban Cross Stitch. I met him last month & he's a lovely bloke. His mum bakes a lovely cupcake too!
There's some nice burlesque type patterns on Celtic Rose needlecraft. I've got a few in my stash & I think they'll look fab when stitched.

I've got quite a few pages of chat to catch up on from the last week. You girls have been talking far too much! ;)

My stitching usually has a few mistakes in as well and I don't unpick. The only time I have recently was when it was a solid block of colour and the new batch didn't quite match, so I unpicked and did it all with the new batch.

A Winnie The Pooh picture that I started when I was 16 and finished about two years ago (I'm 36) was picked up and put down so many times over the years that the stitches are all different ways, some thread had faded a bit but hey ;)

phew, i had a really stressful day at work last night - a 12 hour working day, which is a bit of a shock to the system for a lowely 7.24hr council worker! i delivered my first 'outreach' session in my new role, and whilst it didnt go according to plan at all (as suspected, it was fine) it did go very well, and i've a second session booked with the same group for a few weeks time. to quote the group co-ordinator 'even our husbands and fathers want to come along, that's amazing'.

i have picked up vals card this week, though actually shouldnt have... its the worst piece of stitching i've ever done. i dont want to unpick as then i know it will NEVER be done at all.. but i'm beginning to wonder if i'll even be able to send it!

am sure it's fine 23rd. If i unpicked every time i stitched something the wrong way round i'd never get anything done. you should see princess palace close up its awful!!
23rd im sure you are being too critical of yourself and it will be fine

no stitching yesterday as dh took the day off for our wedding anni, we went to bradgate park for the day then out for a meal

    Happppy anniversary.

    That's stunnning.

Still not got my cuppa tea .... off I pop. babywiggle is shattered after a hectic morning and winging like you would not believe but refuses to have a nap (so will be going to bed at 6! :D)
tinywiggle is asleep but not sure how much longer for.

I have got a surprising amount of stitching done this week (think i am trying to finish palace even tho i desperatly want to do a different thing keep finding excuses "the threads aren't sorted", "i don't have a spare thread box", "the chart isn't copied", "the aida is not cut"......
