thanks girls... no nothing anyone can really do - he just needs to start putting the boys first (before tv, his lie ins, his computer time) and until he does i don't really want to know him.

re: cold caller sign - i believe it is so far only energy companies that have agreed to respect the sign not all cold callers.

Sorry to hear your news Louise, will be thinking of you lots.

My local sewing group also won Cross stitch crazy's competition a while back. We won about 5 kits that we had to put names in the hat to draw and some vouchers which you could redeem if you spent over a certain amount. I won a mamia one of a parisian lady which I love as I teach French and love the colours of it too.

I have made a fair amount of progress with my sampler thanks to louise's fabric marking idea. I have a quilters pencil which is fab and I am so much faster now I am on a new kit which I have marked out ready. I like doing samplers as I get a sense of achievement as each section is complete but there is quite a lot of border to do which is s bit of a pain or a useful thing when people are in a very chatty mood at my sewing group!:rotfl:

Am with dorastar on the start of the summer stitching holiday, about the only one where I actually don't have reports to do or huge amounts of marking, just me, my 2 kids and hopefully lots of knitting and stitching opportunities:D

I am also knitting a cardigan for myself and a spiral scarf for when I don't want to concetrate.

could someone please remind me of how to upload a picture as I can't remember my flicker password and realise I still haven't shown off my Rocky point yet:D
