I've always started in the middle as well. I do all sorts. Sometimes I stitch blocks of colour, sometimes rows, at the moment I have a lot of confetti stitching on one page but lots of block colours on the next page so I move from one to the other (I'm sure that sounds weird but I'll post pic soon on flickr so you know what I mean. I love reading about what everyone else does. It's amazing how different everyone stitches.

WOW, has anyone seen THIS cross-stitch before???
Imagine having that in your UFO pile!
Apparently it took 10 years to complete, and took 628,296 stitches in 1,809 colours!
I think the most stitches in a kit I have is about 30,000 ish lol

I too have this kit in my stash! It's one that I am desperate to start but at the same time I am saving it because once it's done it's done and I won't have it to look forward to anymore.....if you know what I mean :o
Shelly I know exactly what you mean, as I'm the same about Twilight's Child that I posted a little while ago. ;)

Finally, can I ask what fellow stitchers do when the piece of aida that has been supplied with your kit has been cut from the edge ? (so instead of having four edges to stitch up - you only have three because one is the edge of the material thus will not fray.) I guess I still have been given enough to stitch the design ? but it always worries me....
    I fold it as normal.
Mags_Cat: I'm the same about backstitch.

It was me that did the Noah's ark cross-stitch and it's on the Flickr group (I think).

Morning all, i have been a little pre ocupied the last few days, trying to finnish a knitted baby blanket and various other bits and bobs, I am hoping the postman brings me my cut thru today, i am itching to get started on it.

I start in the middle and work my wat to the top left corner then work in solid rows from there if that makes sence.
  • morning all, really must post more oftern as i always go to reply and cant remember what i wanted to say lol, well i finished tinkerbell and have started this one

OH and if you're heading to Rushden on the weekend and like paper crafts and stationary, then you'd be wise to look up Colemans Warehouse... but consider yourself warned! :rotfl:do check their website as they havent always been open each weekend http://www.colemangroup.co.uk/Craft_home.htm

Brilliant, thanks for all the info :T I think a trip to Rushden is on the horizon for Saturday if I can convince hubby. I'm quite excited at the thought of the sale advertised on the Coleman's website!

Post van pulled up outside this morning, and I was assuming my frame had arrived, but he was delivering to next door! I'm hoping I get it soon so I can finish that last bit of my cut thru. I want to start the rocket for the SAL at the weekend, but I'd really prefer to have one finished before moving on to the next.

How is everyone progressing with the SAL?

All my Christmas decorations went down last night. I'm quite pleased to have the house back to normal. I love Christmas, but once it's over I can't wait to get the tree down. If it wasn't for the kids it'd have been taken down on Boxing Day lol!

My lighthouse hasn't even been delivered yet :(

I didn't even bother putting up decorations... that makes me a humbug doesn't it :)

Wish it was still the holidays though - this work malarkey sucks!

Checked the bank this morning, and after all the dd's are accounted for, I have 74p! Erk! The old me would bung it all on the credit card, but I guess I'd better not... Will sting !!!!!! for some money :)

The post is always so rubbish this time of year, there do seem to be a few of us waiting for something to come!

Although I love putting up the decorations I can understand why some people don't. My mum doesn't bother putting any decorations up if she's coming to us for Christmas, only bothers if we're going round to hers as she knows the kids will expect it!

We're skint too, hearing how sensible you're being makes me think I shouldn't really head to that Coleman's sale with the credit card. To be good or not to be good, decisions decisions ...

It's bad because the cat was poorly just before Christmas. Really need the insurance to pay out - fast. That was £400. Ouch!
