New challenge finish birth sampler by end of the month
No matter how much life knocks you down, it's your ability to get back up, brush yourself off and face your next set of challenges that makes you stronger0 -
Hi wen-tom.
Lots of us use this site for threads http://www.across-town-stitching.talktalk.net/index.html They are very reasonable at 37p per skein for standard DMC & Anchor. They have an offers section which works out cheaper if you need 50 or more skeins.
Postage is very good also at £1 for orders up to £3, £1.50 for orders up to £20 and free if spending over £20.
Also just noticed this notice on their homepage....
Midnight 3rd January 2011 VAT prices are increasing to 20%. But we will be keeping our prices as they are and reviewing them at the end of February.
So fill yer boots ladies! :rotfl:
Hope that helps
Thank you Shelly, I'll take a look right now. 37p is much better than 85p :T0 -
Back to work today so my stitching time is somewhat reduced now:(
I worked out that my first day's holiday this year that I have booked (apart from weekends) is at the end of Feb but this is a designated stitching day :j and I am looking forward to it alreadyI also have about 3 days ? off in May and thats stitching time too :j Oh I can't wait. I'm going to treat them like a proper work day but oh I'll be stitching. :rotfl:
The new sewandso site hasn't been loading properly for me (instead loading some of the old site / some parts new) but I have cleared my cache and seem to get the new site ok now. Oh I can't believe they have a wish list. Thats just too tempting. I have already fallen in love with Siberian Snow - Price is  but its going to be my SW Target challenge - when I get to my SW target and don't have to pay anymore then I'll still pay each week (but to the Bank of Flat Eric :rotfl:) until I have enough to buy it - thats unless I find something else in the meantime, I fear my wish list is going to end up rather large...
eta whats with the sewandso label over the cross stitch pictures???0 -

Just gonna go for a quick bath (what a boring waste of time when i have stitching to be doing) then into a warm bed to snuggle with stitching and holby city.
Yay stitching and holby - best night everBack to work today so my stitching time is somewhat reduced now:(
Same here -work irritatingly getting in the way of life aka stitching.
Sat down with dh last night and reckon his shifts mean I can go the next 3 crafty saturdays while he looks after the munchkins:THe even suggested that if his shifts clashed he is owed some hols and would use some up to give me time to go and stitch as "it turns you back into a happy human being":DMortgage £119,533 going down slowly
Emergency fund £1000/£1000
Savings for big things £90170 -

maybe its to stop people saving the pic then putting into a make a cross stitch program....not that i have ever done such a thing
im wondering about useing anker cross stitch threads or maybe the cheaper ones, but dont want to get them and find out there rubbish, does anyone have any experiance with non dmc threads or am i just better of in the long run useing dmc? im just trying reallly hard to cut costs down this year in all things not just my stitching but dont want to make mistakes that will end up waisting money0 -

Having tried this myself, I'd stick to either Anchor or DMC.
You can get them for about 35p from Across Town Stitching, and she's reliable0 -
thank you for replying so quickly and understanding my spelling of anchor lol think i will stick to useing the dmc and get them from across town stitching but buying in abit more in the bulk amounts0

Isuspect lots of people on here would advise sticking to one company - at least then, the chances are if you need a colour, you will have it in your stash0
