    I'm homeeeeee!

Haven't stitched a thing for a month, so I will need to get my stitching head back on.

    Russia was amazing.

    Magical moments :

    1) Standing under St Basil's cathedral in Moscow just as the midnight chimes sounded to start the Victory Day celebrations. Cue lots of beserk Russians waving flags and drinking vodka...

    2) Swimming in Lake Baikal after we'd seen the ice floating in the water. Mad, mad, crazy and mad...

    3) The plane coming to a stand at Moscow airport after something of a hairy landing on the flight from Vladivostok. Aeroflot? Never again!

Piccies are starting to go up on my Flickr page if you're interested (they're all trains at the moment, you may want to give it a day or two 'til I get them properly sorted!).

    Missed you all :D

Welcome home! That flew by quickly-even quicker for you, I would imagine. Looking forward to seeing the pics. Will have a nosy at the weekend.

Today is my wedding anniversary! It's been 9 years. I feel very old...:rotfl: Anyway, we're going to the theatre later on, then off to dinner. It's a lovely sunny day here in London, but I've no idea what to wear.

Congratulations, hope you enjoy your day together. I've been married 11 years next month - I know exactly what you mean about feeling old (and I'm only 30!):rotfl:

Welcome home Mags_cat, can't wait to see the pics!

Congratulations Ruth-honey. It's my 1st wedding anniversary in 5 weeks - was so weird going to the shop and getting a HUSBAND card! Yes, I know I should've stitched one but as it's the 1st time I had to buy one just cos of the husband bit! ... Do I sound mad!?

...Having a good few days with the business. Suddenly from it being really quiet I've had 3 orders in a week and one is for 4 big cakes, not just cupcakes! Am hoping it means I'm finally getting established!

Did a bit of Titanic last night, only the white and the backstitch to go now! I said to DH I'm going to miss it when it's done seeing as it's been on the go for about 12-14 years. He looked at me like I'd gone crazy!

Mags-cat; Wow that must have been some adventure. I don't know about swimming in icy water tho:eek: must have been very invigorating.

Congrats to those with wedding anniversarys it's a very special day for you and the oh. We've just celebrated our 41st :T

Do you think that this red cross stitch sampler would look good as a cushion for my bed? It would need some white fabric behind it to make it whiter. Maybe with a tassle or beads at the corners?

  • Well it's official. I can cross stitch during chemo treatment. Cannular in the back of left (hoop-holding) hand and I'm away. Four hours worth yesterday so completed the border of the bathroom sampler that has been my lunchtime project for the last two months.

Just a little bit of lavendar above the bath and it's finished, I've been back stitching as I go as it's lots of little bits and pieces.

Lovely long weekend coming up in which I plan to:

    1. Iron and make up my LOVE cushion.
    2. Wash and prep my red crockery sampler for taking to the framers next week.
    3. Finish the bathroom sampler, wash & frame.
    4. Finish stitching pin cushion from 2 month old Cross Stitcher and make up.
    5. Dig out my UFO 'Too pooped' and make that my June challenge.

Not sure the weekend is that long, but I'm not working back at the pub until next week, as I should be on my honeymoon :(

Glad you've sorted that out Biker! At least you can do something you enjoy :)

Hope the whole thing goes as quickly and pleasantly as it can... as few evil symptoms as possible please :)

Do you have any wedding photos? I'd love to see them x

awe, *hugs* bikerchick. i was so delighted at you being able to stitch during treatment and your totally fab 'completed stitching to make up list', so am so sorry of the reality of the missing honeymoon. I'm sure you will have an even better one when you're all sorted.

congratulations to those with wedding anniversaries. you're making me think that i'll never reach a significant wedding anniversary as me and my oh have been together 9 (i think) years already and i'm 30... well done Mrs Milkybar Kid on finding and being sure on your other half so early!

wow Mags, that does sound truely amazing. i cant wait to see all the pics, and might point my uncle towards the train pics too. it seems like no time since you left, even though i've been away camping, been made redundnant, got and started a redeployment post, moved house, finished my cousin's sampler and been down south to the wedding in that time! (gosh!)

humm, we have been saying its quiet here recently (partly as i dont have broadband at new house yet), but maybe it's more due to you being away! did you 'meet' tiney wiggle before you left? i cant remember. anyway, welcome home hun x
