My friend got them for you - will contact you via facebook about them

You really have to watch the xs mag people. I find out of all the magazines I've subscribed to over the years, the stitching ones employ the most idiots! They really do make A LOT of mistakes & you need to chase up everything. Obviously we're a patient lot because they're still in business-although they've now lost mine! I would rather use my Tesco vouchers for train tickets now, instead of a magazine which has changed so much I barely recognise it.

I am still so undecided do I cancel or not - I am trying to find my kiss chart to do it - put it away somewhere safe to do and now I can't find it - sorry granny!

Life is going on up here - still no sign of transfer and still travelling 70 odd miles aday helping out. Hubby still has no job - really getting concerned he is acting like it will be all ok.

Hope all is well where ever you are

    Hi ladies.

Because I have been away I was expecting to have lots of pages of chat to catch up on but was pleasantly surprised! You have all been so quiet :D

Got back from NYC today, had a great time but my feet feel like they need soaking in hot water for a week and my knees have had it :rotfl:
We are both knackered but don't want to sleep until bedtime so I decided to fire up pc and catch up with you guys.

Everyone's wip's and finished designs are looking great. I especially like Marru's woodland folk, very cute. Also the Wizard that your friend has stitched is stunning.

Vickie. Hope your daughters leg heals real quick.

    JCS1. Welcome to the cafe!

Perhaps while in B&Q you should've bought another padlock for the shed with several keys! ;):D
i wish i could have done! the shed has a recycled front door to it and changing a propper door lock is way beyond my megre DIY!

... I have found good patterns for the hearts and trees but still looking something for butterflies. I can find loads of applique (sp?) ones but not so many block patterns.

I have an android tablet which I installed Kindle on, and I like it. I'm using it now to type this. I hardly use my laptop now :) I am not sure I'd want a specific e-book reader though. Too restrictive.

humm, thanks for your thoughts - this is an issue im currently pondering.
i've a clunky desktop but like the huge storage, i used to have a work laptop and miss it... so i was going to get a fancy mobile (blackberry or windows ect) but the ongoing costs are so high.. my OH says just get a laptop as i read blogs a lot and follow sewing patterns itd be useful to be moveable again. BUT now i'm thinking a tablet, either a 2ndhand ipad original or an android but its very confusing!
sorry for emptying my head onto you lovely peeps. if anyone has any ideas / opinions i'd love to hear them.

There are loads of options on the market at the mo

A laptop, a netbook, an Ipad, kindle or other book reader, there are Android tablets, windows tablets... it's exciting

Have you got a list of all the things you would do with it? I do love my tablet :)

I found THIS today after I posted. I really like the town butterfly. But any further ideas more than welcome. (Can you tell I was bored out of my mind at work :o). Now I just need to find out if I can get Boris or decide if the work will go ahead without him.

DD was on the swimming lesson today and during the first 15 minutes I managed to stitch one flower (14 stitches) and unpick it. Then during next 15 minutes do it again and then do another one. Ho hum. So at that rate I am stitching 56 stitches per hour :rotfl:

Marru.... could you not tweak this one... i.e. remove border and writing?? (dont' know how it compares size wise to the otbers)

p.s. what size are they and any chance of a ;);)

I have seen that, I am now sure I am quite confident enough to attempt adapting it. Am tempted thou. The ones I have are 4"x4" and of course just send me a PM.

pm on its way thank you.

hmm just checked it out... looks as if with no border and words it'd be about the right size lengthways but still too high...... hmmm let me think on it.....

    I'm homeeeeee!

Haven't stitched a thing for a month, so I will need to get my stitching head back on.

    Russia was amazing.

    Magical moments :

    1) Standing under St Basil's cathedral in Moscow just as the midnight chimes sounded to start the Victory Day celebrations. Cue lots of beserk Russians waving flags and drinking vodka...

    2) Swimming in Lake Baikal after we'd seen the ice floating in the water. Mad, mad, crazy and mad...

    3) The plane coming to a stand at Moscow airport after something of a hairy landing on the flight from Vladivostok. Aeroflot? Never again!

Piccies are starting to go up on my Flickr page if you're interested (they're all trains at the moment, you may want to give it a day or two 'til I get them properly sorted!).

    Missed you all :D
