Hello Ladies long time no chat.
I do nip in but seldom have anything to 'say' so look at your pics/makes so thanks for posting them.
The Bieber x stitch is coming on slowly as I have started it twice! A few atrands of hair went array & me being so damn anal I had to start it again however life plans have changed somewhat & it's on the back burner for a while.
My mum is really into her x stitch of late & with a birthday very soon I'd like to get her something related to this. She loves Vervaco kits ( monotone romantic ones). She has bought several of the same kit as she wanted to do it over again for friends & you get chart/threads all in. Is there a conversion chart for these threads for say DMC as she has 4 of the same chart & it'd be cheaper to simply colour match the thread shades.
Not sure what make threads the kits uses but thought to ask incase one of you are aware.
Thanks in advance.0 -
Hi guys great work
Shelly, i always follow the chart, if i make an error like one stitch wrong, i have to unpick it and redo it :rotfl:
Czar update not done as much as i'd like, as my OH got his CT results and he has a narrowed artery in his leg, they recommend an operation but he's not so keen. He went to the GP who said he had very high BP over 200 and were worried he'd have a heart attack  So all in all not a great weekCross Stitch Cafe Member No1WIP: Cross Stitch: - Crochet:0 -

Finished my Swan Queen:
Day 3
Day 5 - DONE
Only problem is what to do next - Candlelight, UFO New heights, UFO Touched by magic, Faery Tales (HAED) Flight to Neverland, Lighthouse of dreams or I could do some cards/coasters.

I've checked a Vervaco kit and it uses DMC threads, have you checked the chart that came with the kit, usually there is a list of threads
WOW thanks for that. I haven't seen a kit as new only once mum is midway/done it so no idea how thay are presented.
Given she has the chart *several* times she need only buy the aida & threads so I will let her know they are DMC.
Thankyou.0 -
WOW Louise - that is quick and beautiful work :T
I don't change the charts but I don't unpick mistakes either (if it is just the one stitch and I can get away with it)

Well done Louise, she looks fab, can't believe that only took 5 days!
Well here is my long overdue update on my DOHTotal Debt at LBM - £19107.03Total now - £11091.220 -
ohh nmm <<hugs>>
wow *louise* she is stunning....... i think fairy tales next.... but purly cause it would be unfortunate for anything to happen to the chart without you having a backup:D
ohhh sammr85 i want to start one of my dictionary ones now..... but need to finish the wedding sampler first am almost half way throglad i chose the half size one.
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
Sounds like you have your wedding all sorted bikerchick...well done on keeping the costs low. :T
Lovely work everyone...yet again you have speeded through that design Louise, looks wonderful!!!
I would love to see how you get on with Flight to Neverland. It is a big project, so perhaps you could have some coasters on the go too!!
I would love to do some of the Dictionary designs...but I have enough work on the go and in the pipeline to keep me occupied for decades :rotfl:
As if I didn't have enough to do, I am looking into planning a knitting-for-beginners course at my college, to start in September. They have muttered about wanting something like Kirstie Allsop did...but concentrating on the knitting side...might find an excuse to do some cross-stitching too!
Also going to my first quilting group meeting on Wednesday evening...scary!!
I think I will have to put in a request for another 24 hours a week...it's the only way I'll fit it all in!! That, and not visiting MSE so much...so, see you sometime later!

Ok a lot later than promised due to madness at work. Also I haven't stitched much
So this was 5 days and 4 nights,
And this is after 5 days and 6 nights, it took me one night to finish the eye but then I had to unpick it to just past the middle of the iris (this time I haven't counted). It then took me a night to get it back to where it is now.
I need to start stepping it up but sadly hours are few and far betwwen lately (due to work) but I will get there
Thanks for all your support ladies, everyday I read this thread, even if I don't post and it spurrs me on. Thanks
