Hi Chicky,
Hope you do well with your ebaying, am trying to get some listed myself today but the small person seems to have given up on her daytime nap this weekend so not sure how I will do.
You might want to check your spelling on the Cross Stitch magazines, if people search for Stitching (yours is missing the i) they won't show up and you might miss out on some bids.

Thanks to all who directed me to Quidco - £289.30 since Nov 09 :beer:0 -
Glad your order has gone through Judellie. I find it best to use Internet Expolorer to view Across Town Stitching...it doesn't seem to work very well with Firefox...just a thought if you are having problems in the future.
I'm on a macbook so use safari. Will have to try on OH laptop next time.
Thanks

Firstly - Bikerchick, I reiterate what everyone else has already said, my thoughts are with you.
Stitching news - My Across Town order finally arrived yesterday, which I had been waiting 2 weeks for (stupid 4 bank holidays interupting my post!). I do find that their orders are dispatched a bit slower than some (especially Sewandso - next day delivery practically!) - but I tell myself that my patience saves me money - £18.65 to be exact on this particular order compared to buying the 57 threads from Sewandso:money:!
I also purchased my first HAED design yesterday - 'Sunflower Bee' (I was drawn in by their 25% sale) so am quite excited about that. It will be my next big stitch after 'Starry Night with Tardis' which I am hoping to start today now that all my newly purchased threads are wound on bobbins.
Lovely stitching as always ladies - hope you have an enjoyable stitchy Sunday0 -
ohhh thank you harley.... you can tell i was doing them frazzled and distracted :-)
ds1 gave up his months agooo.......life is now painful by 4pm!! (what am i saying life is painful by 10am!). ds2 only likes sleeping on you or swaddled but that means the moses basket would have to live downstaairs in day and i want him to learn day vs night from as young as possible so dont really want to start that way for him to sleep.
righty am gonna attempt getting ds1 dressed again then off to mrM for the first time on my own with the 2 of em.....wish me luck......or send me valium!loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
Hi ladies.
Everyone's progress is looking great!
I have a question I'd like to ask all of you.
Before you start a new kit/chart do you look over it with a critical eye and change anything or do you stitch it as it is?
With the Playroom kit I am doing I have changed a few areas to my liking. For example, on the bears left foot the blue background stitches seem to be part of his foot (as if he has a bit of blue foot) I have changed these to brown stitches. Have done this on the other foot too.
On the same left foot the pale pad wasn't as round as I would have liked it so I have changed a few dark brown stitches to pale ones.
Also I noticed on the Winnie kit I have just finished they completely missed out a black stripe on Tiggers head on the chart but on the finished pic it was there so I added it myself.
My recent ebay win arrived this week and the tigers front leg looks weird. They seem to have taken a chunk out of the side of the leg and replaced it with green grass. I did wonder if the grass was in the foreground (maybe his leg should be behind the grass) but no, it's just a mistake I think.
Anyway I have made a note to take out the grass colour and do it in brown stitches.
Also it's not uncommon for me to add extra half or quarter stitches if I think there is too much gap between a stitch on the chart and the backstitch line. I like it all filled in
Now.....does anyone else do this or am I alone in my (hubby says weird) need for it to be to my liking?:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
I tend to do it just the way the chart is, unless there is something very obviously wrong with it. But it's down to you how you want it to look.0

i pretty much follow the chart, but only cause i wouldn't have the energy/ time/ need to change anything. sometimes i change things as i go along (e.g. say i was doing tatty teddy and ran out of thread with 3 stitches left i would just replace with the next thread). sometimes i change colours if i don't think it'll matter to the finish but again it would be as i went along not before i started.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. I have done a few times. I think the most changes I did was on a Country Companions footballer design that I stitched for my Dad's 50th. The original colours for the hedgehogs football kit was blue, but my Dad's team is Plymouth Argyle, who play in green, so I changed the colours myself.
I also had a small Lizzie Kate wedding chart & I pretty much used whatever colours worked on that one. I used hand dyed fabric, so chose the colours to suit that. I think the wording was chocolate colour to fit in with their living room...(don't remember too much, as it was request for a friend & I never met the couple).Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27
