My chart from the nice ebay lady arrived today......no wonder I couldn't find it online - it's from an old issue of Cross Stitch Collecton.
So old the chart is in black and white
Also found out it is based on a painting by Francis Cordell of Natalia Makarava as the Swan Queen and was converted to Xstitch by Debbie Cripps :j
Haven't got any further with the Lion King, just waiting for my threads to arrive.....we will still all get post on Saturday won't we? *fingers crossed*Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. I thought it looked relatively easy compared to some of the HAED designs!
Yeah but it's on black fabric, that makes it harder lol :rotfl:

Just a quick note to say after this afternoon I'll be on holiday (for a month :D) so Kez has very kindly taken up a role as Flickr Group admin. She'll be able to accept any new invites to the group and otherwise oversee things on Flickr 'til I get back.
Thank you Kez :T
When I get back I'm going to buy this. I have no idea how long it'll take to stitch - but it'll be a good commemoration of my Russian oddessy!
I don't think I'll have room to pack any stitching - but I might get some done before I go on Wednesday.
See you all when I get back!
::hyper-excited::
I love that cross stitch but not the price .
I hope you have a really good trip, it's something I've wanted to do for years but it's unlikely now. My dad was russian and I went there (only as far as Moscow and Leningrad) on holiday with him and mum in the late 80's when it was still communist. Despite that it was amazing - absolutely different lifestyles & customs, beautiful architecture and a lot of history.
Make sure you stay safe, take lots of pics and don't touch the local potato spirits !

Advice please stitchers. I want to start my Heritage Silhouettes Early Shift cross stitch pattern. I'd like to use 14 count aida so need to know which colour to get i.e. cream or beige or whatever Ecru is. Across town is cheaper than Sew and So, but I don't know what the mean by "fat quarter" in the description and would fat quarter ruin the look of the finished project?
Thanks in advance.Cross Stitch Member No 32: 1. Complete farm house cross stitch for parents anniversary August 2012.

I just can't bring myself to get excited by a wedding that isn't someone I know or that I will be attending
:rotfl:
I certainly don't want mugs or plates with the faces of a couple of strangers on them that some people seem to be collecting - what's that all about! :rotfl:
I will switch on for a nosey at the dress and a drool over Philip Schofield (ITV coverage lol) but that's about my limit.
Not sure when my Scofe crush started-maybe watching Dancing On Ice?-but I've got quite a thing for him now.
Don't know why my email alerts haven't been coming through, but had no MSE emails in at least a day. Odd.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

I don't know what the mean by "fat quarter" in the description and would fat quarter ruin the look of the finished project?
Hi Niamhirl - a fat quarter is a term used in fabric (traditionally by quilters) and it just refers to the way the fabric has been cut. I'm sure I'll be corrected if wrong - but it basically means that a yard is cut from the bolt of fabric and then cut in half through the length and width giving four 'fat' quarters rather than if you asked for a quarter yard of fabric you would get a strip of fabric 9x44 inches. Both measurements are a quarter of a yard - but a fat quarter is much more versatile. Fat quarters are generally 18x22 inches - but if the bolt of fabric is wider than the fat quarter will be a bit wider too.
A fat quarter of aida would give you more than enough to complete the design you want to start on.
Sorry if this has confused you further - I can't post links yet but if you google 'fat quarter term' and look under images rather than web the first item you see is a blue diagram which will make up for my above poor explaination! :rotfl:0 -

As explained by MMK, it just refers to the size of the fabric. (And it will be more than enough for the design you are doing)
Ecru is a creamy colour, I have that design as a UFO and it's on cream.Ruth_honey wrote: »I am totally with you on that!
