    Hi All,

Here's my progress of square 1 of 8 that I'm doing as part of my mum's heirloom quilt.

Annoyingly they are taking longer than I would like...

Managed to do quite a bit over the weekend as I was away in Cornwall and other half slept in the afternoons...

I'm starting to think that I'll have to put down Mr Men (Haven't done any on that since my last update) and concentrate on this otherwise one or the other won't get finished this year...

  • Hope everyone had a lovely (stitchy where possible) bank holiday weekend.

I've just bought the supplies for my next (long term) project :j.

I'm doing my first 'big' project, the chart is 12 A4 pages with about 110 colours (which to all you HAED stitchers out there is nothing I know!) and I'm doing it on 18ct magic aida (too lazy to grid myself).

Although I have a full set of Anchor threads, the pattern is in DMC so instead of doing a conversion I've just bought the threads I need from Across Town - I did manage to raid my sisters stash for half of them as she is a DMC girl ;). I was worried that as it was so detailed the difference in shading might be noticeable so I didn't want to take a chance.

Can't wait for the stash to arrive so I can make a start. Not looking forward to winding all those bobbins though....

    Hi Girls

Sorry I have been MIA - been sorting out house a bit - it was getting to me - long way to go yet. Also I am going to another location for work for a wee while to help them out, hopefully to a nicer crowd.

Well going to do some sewing tonight - make a start on the wedding sampler -going to do the same one I did my boss (well ex-boss now). Shouldn't take too long. Then I think I will make a start on Emily Peacocks Hug.

    Kind wishes to all

    sweetcarer ;)

MMK - I would have done the same re. the threads. I'm never convinced a conversion is really precise.

Bobbin winding can be quite relaxing sometimes :D

As for me...I have come to a stop for now. ran out of DMC 780 so can't finish off. Am online atm ordering that (and topping up a few others) from across town - I have a vague hope that they might get here by Thurs *fingers crossed* but I have New Heights to be getting on with for now.

I haven't managed any proper stitching the last couple of days because although I have been off, we have been out doing stuff but tomorrow, oh dear, I am so upset:rotfl:, I have to wait in for a parcel :j so I shall probably settle down with my audio book and my stitching for a few hours :D:D:D

I haven't tackled any of the projects I am meant to be stitching!! and which have deadlines !! because I have been consumed by stitching the healthy eating magnets that were featured in world of cross stitching number 140 (june 2008 ??)

I have finished two so far and have started a third - they stitch up really quick and I don't have the threads listed so have just used some from my stash (which is a first for me!!) I am intending on stitching some of them up for my slimming world class - does anyone recall seeing any other diet themed designs in other mags ? I'm not keen on the fitness themed designs featured in issue 141 of World of Cross Stitch but wondered if anyone had spotted any other designs ? I have had a quick look on sew and so and can't see any chart books or anything.

Are any of you planning on watching the royal wedding on friday ? I was shocked to see that people are already camping out for their big day. Certainly Friday afternoon is going to be stitchy time so whether I watch the aftermath of the wedding or one of my columbos is a decision yet to be made!!

Oh you poor thing - I feel your pain!!!! :rotfl::rotfl:

Don't recall them, they sound interesting :T

I just can't bring myself to get excited by a wedding that isn't someone I know or that I will be attending :o:rotfl:

I certainly don't want mugs or plates with the faces of a couple of strangers on them that some people seem to be collecting - what's that all about! :rotfl:

I will switch on for a nosey at the dress and a drool over Philip Schofield (ITV coverage lol) but that's about my limit.

  • I won't be watching the wedding, but will spend the day cutting out all my little cross stitched purple hearts and making up my favour bags all ready for mine in 23 days!!

Now I feel guilty about stitching for eight hours yesterday instead of doing 'weddingy' stuff!
