    hi clare........

welcome to the reasonably quiet house at the moment - i blame it on babies and sunny weather.

i always mount/ frame my work myself....but only cause i refuse to pay professionals. :D if the person who recieves it wants to have it redone thats up to them.

did anyone else see that hail earlier? couldn't believe it one minute i was tanning my legs and putting the washing out the next we're getting all the toys in in a mad rush. curled up with my boys and watched Pixar short films dvd and ate popcorn instead!

ohhh and :easter_os don't eat tooo much chocolate!!:EasterBun
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:

    Hi clare and welcome

I'm with chicky i'm a yorkshire girl too and i won't pay the professionals either . I have done my own but as i told the outlaws when i gave them their sampler it is all my own work even the crap framing lol.
If they want to have it reframed that's their choice and cost .:rotfl:

I have twins too and have been going to stitch them a sampler since they were born. I've set a deadline of oct 2012 just in time for their 21 st birthdays .

  • Hello all, sorry I have been MIA, sadly work hours have been mad! Nothing done on my wedding gift but I am spending all of tomorrow on it without fail.

Louise, is your Lion from 'the world of cross stitching?' if so I blame you ;) I saw it in the shop today and thought ohhh I reconise that Lion. I picked it up and saw the birds pg 35 and the spring designs and had to buy it :rotfl: I have also seen the coming next issues so no doubt I will buy that :o I must say even though I love 'cross stitcher' for its designs this is more cross stitching related and much more thicker :T I think I will buy them both for a while before I decide on a sub ;)

Back tomorrow with an update

    It is. :D

You should have gave me a shout before you bought it ;)

I keep meaning to ditch my sub to No1Crossstitcher, the only decent thing in it these days are the small Margaret Sherry designs. WOXS is always a winner though :T:T

    Happy Easter Day everyone.

Well, I've finished my RM tile with a few days to spare. I actually took the risk of washing it in the machine at 30 degrees, but still it's not completely clean, some hoop marks remain although they can be hidden under the frame or mount. Does anyone wash their works of art at 40 degrees ?

    Anyway here it is:

I'm doing this next, hopefully I'll get it finished by the end of May as it's only 5 by 7 inches. Found it at the bottom of my stash trunk, so it's years old :D

Hope everyone has a fruitful and peaceful day.

    Linda xx
  • I have to be honest, I just shove my finished work in the washing machine (in a pillow case) with whatever else is being washed at the time - I didn't know you were meant to alter the temperature, and I think it will still be set at whatever the installer person set it at when I bought it 5 years ago (40 degrees).

As long as you're using DMC/Anchor (which are colourfast) and not using posh hand dyed fabric I can't see a problem. (IMHO - no responsibility taken for any disasters etc)

Hi Claire - nice to meet you - no more lurking for you :D

I can't believe you had hail Chicky, It's been delicious here, real beach/ice cream weather :D

Take care all, i am venturing into the jungle (garden) today xx

    Morning ladies.

    Happy Easter! :icotbaske
No choc eggs here because I am dieting and don't need the temptation in the house. I bought a top in bonmarche yesterday to take on hols and got comfortably into a medium! Usually I have to buy XL so I'm really chuffed :D

Clarew. Hi & welcome to the cafe! :D

Marru. Love your finished pieces. The Woodland Folk are especially cute.

    Linda. Love the RM tile.
:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:

Just finished the caravaning couple at last, just in time for when my sister & bil arrives in their new caravan.

A couple of months ago, when it was put on the back burner, but then I realised time was aticking!
