I just can't bring myself to get excited by a wedding that isn't someone I know or that I will be attending
:rotfl:
Well, I was invited but told them that I couldn't make it. Who has the time to travel to London for a wedding on a bank holiday weekend??chickywiggle wrote: »how many days are you allowed to not stitch for before you get banished from the cafe???
Don't start asking that! I'll be out of here before you can blink!0 -
lol @ Nykied..... i know all that traffic..... horrendous.... they could have chosen a more convienient date.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0

Kez. Love the Rose square for the quilt, very pretty.
I will switch on for a nosey at the dress and a drool over Philip Schofield (ITV coverage lol) but that's about my limit.
This is probably as far as I will go too. I'd like to see her dress but not bothered about anything else.bikerchick1066 wrote: »I won't be watching the wedding, but will spend the day cutting out all my little cross stitched purple hearts and making up my favour bags all ready for mine in 23 days!!
Now I feel guilty about stitching for eight hours yesterday instead of doing 'weddingy' stuff!
Just noticed your sig! 19th May is a good day to get married, we got married on that day 10 years ago:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
wow, i've gone and done nothing but DIY all wknd and come back to pages and pages and lots more good news!
~ no stitching done over the bank holiday, but lots of floor boards and skirting fitted, kitchen and bathroom deepcleaned, and some furniture moved. oh, and 2 bbqs had
~ i'm now worrying i might not have time to do all the bottom of the wedding sampler and maybe i should just leave it as the top half. hummm.Mrs_Milkybar_Kid wrote: »Just send me a PM with you address and I will post the madeira thread to you - I've just looked at the chart myself and I have some of the DMC metallics too so I will add some of that.
:j hello Bubbles! welcome back! that is a lovely project. i hope you're feeling better?
welcome to Clarew. well done on de-lurking and confessing your UFOs!!
Louise - thank you so much for the heads up on the keyring. i hadnt thought about using interfacing or 16count, but i have a scrap from a mag so will try that. i'm soo glad i asked! i'm wanting to do one for the new house, and we've an apple tree in the garden there, so that's what i'm thinking.
~ also, i've not bought this months Xstitcher, but have taken out a mini sub for 3 months... if you do give up your sub i'm sure someone here can scan the mshelly for you (of course only once it's out of print!)
Appocco - congratulations on the move! i hope you're very happy there. it sounds like you're settling in nicely already.
Marru - love those woodland folk - my OH is a forrester so he'd like them too i'm sure. i'm defo gonna have to stitch them all one day!
Royal wedding - i've bought a union jack cushion from primark, does that count as celebrating? we'll be camping so wont be able to watch but i am interested. i'll be kind and have a few drinks in their honour!Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. Hello all.
Lovely looking at everybody's work. I am about 3/4 of the way through my peg bag from April Cross Stitcher. It looks good, even though I say so myself!
I am working the Royal Wedding so will be listening on the radio but wont get a looksy at the dress till lunch break at about 2.
23rdSpiral - that is so much DIY. I managed to replace a cupboard door and was impressed with myself.0 -

I know - I thought they could have chosen a day in June or July, when there are no bank holidays, rather than a month when there's loads. Sometimes people just don't think, do they?0 -
Good news: :A
*I have been a good girl and finished the forever friends wedding sampler (in time for june deadline-1 year later though!)
*I have in 2 days of no work, completed a stitch in nursery letters of "Emily" for a friends girl's 2nd birthday gift-in the same style of the one i did for her son previously.:j I Got the frames and mounts today on way home from work, so just need to frame those (and my sons x stitch birth sampler-nearly 7 yrs later:o) and i will be a happy bunny.
*friend also had baby girl yest:T so prob another name samper in nursery letters to do-upside is that its only a 4 letter name so will be quick!
*also finished off in total now (since i've been lurking and inspired to finish my UFOS by you lot!) 5 mini card kits-the freebie ones attached to the mags-so a big THANK YOU to you all for getting me to get my butt in gear again!
Not so good news:
Not very mse, but i took up the offer of the woxs mags 5 for £5, so will start that with julys issue. I cancelled by x stitch card shop one around a year ago as was pricey-but then i keep being tempted in hobbeycraft (2mins away from me-so again not very mse as i get tempted!) to buy a xstitch mag for a fiver a pop-so at least i will get 5 mags for a fiver (note to self-remember to cancel it in time:rotfl:)
Happy stitching! (i think i will be doing some whilst watching bits of the wedding-which probably means i will be distracted and do tons wrong)Mortgage free 04/03/2025. Thanks to this site and lots of overpayments bit by bit.
Next stop: house repairs, holiday fund, replace our very old cars, more financial security/early retirement savings.🤞0 -
Hello Girls
Just wanted to share some of my happyness I had today.
Was at one of the other sites today helping them out and I felt so wanted in my job - felt good to do some work and not get critised or !!!!!ed at.
Started on the wedding sampler.
As for the royal wedding - have decided to work the day and take the day later on. Will have a look at news that night but not intrested but happy for them.
Kind wishes to all
sweetcarer:j cross stitch forever, housework whenever :j0
