_party_:bdaycake:Happy Birthday Chicky! Hope you're going to extend it to include the whole weekend - sounds like someone has some making up tp do.
Still can't find the lead to attach the camera to the PC so the update will have to wait - am driving myself mad getting some of the backstitch done as there is a lot (7/8 colours in total). I HATE backstitch!!! Mind you - got to get to grips with metallic thread for the rest of the crosses
Hope you all have a lovely weekend - I'm off the Chesterfield to visit the family so I'll see if I can swing a visit to the needecraft shop in Bakewell on the way :jCross Stitch Cafe 2011 - no 58 :A

Thanks to all the girls in the Cross Stitch Cafe! You're all fantastic! :A0 -
Hello all. I posted a little while ago about stitching on evenweave and a few of you lovelies explained it to me. I just wanted to say thanks and it has been much easier since I started using every other hole. Makes so much sense now!
I have been working on the peg bag in the current issue of CrossStitcher and am also making one of the little monsters for my boyfriend's birthday card. X0 -
God it seems like a while since I've been on here! where has the time gone.
I've finally been able to start the cross-stitch squares for my mum's quilt. These are done on 32 count Linen, which is not too bad at the moment. Luckily I've had my practice with the evenweave from the Beatrix design I completed last year.
I haven't done any on Mr Men this week, so its definitely not going to be finished for my cousin's birthday. I will upload a progress pic for you tomorrow.0 -

twas a book from when i was a kid - joan aikens "necklace of raindrops"....just makes you mad someone would happily sell things in that condition.
re cross stitch - my favs are anything funny, something with a whitty saying or a pic to make you laugh.
Oh rubbish - dont have this book. I used to read a lot of Enid Blyton when I was little but don't ever remember reading Joan Aiken I love the sound of the flying apple pie!!
Umm not sure what I feel like doing today - not very much..... Stitching my anniversary card probably and siting in front of the tv :j
I was browsing Cross Stitch Crazy earlier in the week and was interested to note re the awards that Origin give out that Sew and So didn't even get a mention (that I could see)? I think the online award went to Black Sheep? Their website is dangerous what with so many sale items telling me to buy them....0 -
evening all sending hugs to all who need them but i have to confess i havent really been reading just scanning whenever i have had two seconds.
not yesterday friday the friday before i had just got back from morning school run when i got a phone call to say grandad had had a fall, so i jumped back in the car dropped baby of at a friends and went to his house turns out he had been on the floor since the afternoon before all the while with his little red button round his neck (he pushes the button and the company ring me to let me know that something is wronge) any how he said he forgot he had it, he was taken to hospital and they are doing loads of tests and have discovered he has kidney stones and has caught a bug and they are investigating his on going problems again. im exhausted im doing all the normal stuff all day getting the kids in bed jumping straight in the car and flying up to hiim for visiting hours then coming home having a bath and falling asleep so ive not really done any stitching
hubby is out all night tonight so i cant get to vistit him so my big plan is to get the kids in bed at 7 order a chinnesse get into bed with it, eat it and then do some sewing and relax but i do feel guilty for not visiting him
sorry to rant but it has been such a long week and i know you lovely ladies wont mind
sorry again

maria - Sorry to hear about your grandad. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I'm sure he will understand that you can't visit tonight. You done a lot for him by visiting all week. Take some time for yourself and enjoy the food and some stitching - you won't be any use for him if you burn yourself out.
Take care xx
I'm going to do some stitching now as I need to sort out a card for Mothering Sunday!"There's only one way of life and that's your own" - Levellers

OOh my olds live in Chesterfield too - it is a very small world! Don't know if anyone remembers but they had a house flood and are still in a rented flat but they have new ceilings in the flooded house and the soggy kitchen has just been ripped out so things are on the move at long last:)
Had a bit of a stitch today and a friend came over with a bike her ds has grown out of - ds tried one last night and is a natural so we were going to buy one but now we don't have too:jMortgage £119,533 going down slowly
