    Morning ladies.

Just a quick question for those of you that wash and iron your designs.....When you iron them how do you do so?
I'm assuming low heat throught a tea towel and on the reverse side?
I really don't want the stitches to be flattened :o

I use a fairly thickish towel, iron set at normal, and I iron the front and back, cus I have OCD
They turn out just fine :)

  • I just wash and iron mine. Sometimes I remember to put it in a pillowcase to wash it in the washing machine, and use a teatowel to iron it, other times I don't

    They come out fine :)

I'm the same, plus I use a tiny bit of spray starch on the back to get it nice and smooth and easier to frame.

Thanks ladies for the ironing advice.

Hubby noticed the fairies needed ironing last night (I could have sworn they were ok when I framed them) but I am loathed to take them out of the frames if I can help it because me and the little bendy bits of metal on the frame backs don't get along. They usually snap off if I touch them too often and the fairies have already been in and out of the frames twice.

Let me know your email and I will send it on to you - you don't have to send me anything - I am not worth it.
i know others have said already, but do you mind? we dont want any such sillyness here thank you. you are a lovely, caring and considerate person.
I'm old enough to be the mother of most of you but age means nothing on here we are all made to feel equal. I don't say much about myself but i'm mostly housebound now and it's lovely to hear how you are all doing good and bad . When you all go away it's lovely to hear about where you've all been . I sound a right nutter now.
hey craftygranny, this really touched me, i'm sorry to hear you are mostly housebound. my nan was housebound for years, her choice in the beginning, then when she realised she shouldnt be so stubborn and accepted a wheelchair, it was sadly too late and she only got into the garden once more.
~ you dont sound like a nutter at all. we've got a lovely little community here, it's kind of like passing the time of day with each other on the highstreet but without the rain!
~ if we lived anywhere near each other you know i'd be over with cake and magazines and day trips if that were possible.

will do 23rdspiral..... must make myself a to-do list as brain is all over the place.

welll my birthday has been ever so exciting... i'm thinking i may just pretend it hasn't existed then i don't have to be a year older.... will that work??

just to bore you.... cause thats the sort of mood i'm in today (sorry):
    - got up and got DS up. got him ready for childminders (actually had some help from DH).
    - half hour later got my birthday pressie (that was really looked forward to as i went and pointed it out to DH yesterday then gave him the money to buy it!.... not even wrapped up... no cards nowt!)
    - took DS to childminders... went to the hospital.
    - had my liver scan..... all clear so still a mystery.
    - waited nearly an hour to see my skin consultant as the mat hospital hadnt returned my notes and they waited until i actually got there before bothering to go look for them.
    - waited half hour for my prescription of cream that will do nothing as i need antibiotics which i can't have as they will inflame my OC. eventually leaving at 12.

but i was milldly amused by a delivery man stopping me half way up my road with a "do you happen to know the people who live at number x"... "yes me"... "really??"... "yes".... "ohh good i've a parcel for you i nearly had to take it back to dept but thought i'd have one last try first"....... less amused that it was only hubby's new shoes. :rotfl:

ohhh and am furious with amazon marketplace.... ordered a book the other day. should have been on next day delivery (free trial offer)... turned up 2 days later. opened it....and (fair enough it was listed as 'used')........but the first 14 pages of the novel had been ripped out!!!!!! so now i have to go out tomorrow to queue in flipping post office to post it back!!:mad::mad::mad::mad:
