Oh Ruth I didn't read your post right before my update! Hope your hubby is OK! My dad was killed in a bike accident when I was very small and so it always gives me chills to read anything like that!

Sorry to hear that, I too get chills when reading about bike accidents, as my cousin was killed in a biking accident, sorry if that sounds really blunt, but a bus hit him, in Leeds city centre.
This was in 2004, he was 25 at the time and had a 3/4 year old daughter, so yeah......

Edited to add in, sorry to hear about your husband Ruth, hope he recovers quickly!

    Hi ladies.

Went out with friends last night to see Sarah Millican. Had a fab time, she was brilliant...as we knew she would be...haven't laughed so hard in a long time :D

Dad has finally got his op date. In just under 3 weeks it will all be done and he'll be on the road to recovery.

No plans today apart from soaps to catch up on, Moto GP quali to watch and the rugby is on too. Might do some stitching whilst listening to GP and rugby.

    Have a good weekend ladies!

I want to stitch a ruby wedding anniversary card. I have had a browse on Sew n So and nothing has taken my fancy. It has to be a card rather than a sampler because I don't have much time....

I have had a browse through the cross stitch books that I have and nothing has jumped out yet but I am going to have a proper look in a bit.

I have lots and lots of old cross stitch mags - does anyone remember there being any nice ruby anniversary designs or can suggest a simple kit ??

I had a quick look through some books of card designs and didn't come up with much. There's this...(can amend the numbers and change colours of flowers to suit)

  • No stitching today, but I was able to find the last fabric I needed for my mum's quilt I'm going to do.

Also went into John Lewis (where I got the fabric from) and purchased a metal tin call 'A Box of Buttons' from the Cath Kidson range to keep my portable Cross-stitch kits in.
    http://www.cathkidston.co.uk/p-15488-cath-kidston-provence-rose-big-book-of-buttons-tin.aspx

They had a green one called 'a box of threads' but I wanted to be different and preferred the blue one.

I didn't realise there was so much Cath Kidson stuff about, I knew about the gorgeous fabrics.
