Great progress, the pics are fab
I noticed a new magazine the other day "Enjoy cross stitch wildlife" it was all wildlife pics which would be great for me but its £7.99  You do get quite a bit of stuff with it though, Quoted from the website " Your bumper gift pack includes: 120m quality stranded cotton thread, 28cm² of 14-count aida, badger family giant fold out chart, 2 golden frames & 3 pretty ribbons, 6 cards with envelopes & 2 bookmarks and 10 matching wildlife stickers plus handy re-usable project wallet." (in issue 5) I might treat myself if i like any of the designs.
Craftgranny, well done on framing it, it looks lovely, i'm sure they will love it

Oh Ruth I didn't read your post right before my update! Hope your hubby is OK! My dad was killed in a bike accident when I was very small and so it always gives me chills to read anything like that!
Craftygranny I am enjoying snow white up to nowI don't know whether I'll be saying that in a few months time :rotfl: I have decided to start another project just to give me a break when I need a change... hmmm, what to start!

I'm so sorry about your Dad.tellmeitsfriday wrote: »I hear you on the bikes thing... !!!!!! is a biker... When it was snowing before Christmas, I had to beg him to take my car to work rather than risk the bike
I persuaded him to do the Institute of Advanced Motorists/Riders course as well, which he is enjoying, but you can't account for the behaviour/actions of others.
Glad hubby is okx
I'm actually a biker too, so I know that accidents will happen. Every biker will have a scar from some accident. Mine is pretty impressive. I was 17 and had only been riding a few months when I came off and smashed up my knee. I now have a horrible scar on one knee and a scar from the skin graft on the other leg. That was 1998 and the only prang I've had since is someone driving into the back of me when I was in a queue of traffic. It was so slow that it didn't even knock me off-just broke a light & the number plate.
Hubby has been riding a bit longer than me, but he rides into London every day, so he's much more experienced with traffic and different weather conditions. But still, you can be the best biker on the planet, but it won't stop someone hitting you if they're not paying attention. I still can't figure out how he got off so lightly. Looking at the photos I took, I would've thought he'd have some injury. It just shows that good protective clothing will save you. He wears everything from the boots to the best helmet we can afford. Scares me when I see people in the summer wearing shorts and no gloves on motorbikes! Always tempted to show them my scars to try and shock them into wearing better clothing.
DH was actually talking recently about doing a bikesafe course-run by Met Police bikers-very soon. Once he's got the bike back, I'll get him to take a day off work for it. In fact, I'll do it too. But on a different day so we don't get distracted by what each other is doing! His bike was picked up earlier for an assement, so he's got my bike for the meantime.
sk00bie1-I know what you mean about washing your stitching. I was so nervous the first time I did it. If you've used good quality threads, it will be fine! I even had to put one piece in the washing machine and it was ok. Good idea to do it before adding beads though.
Edited to add-Link for the biker hubsbands out there: http://www.motobke.co.uk/

Yes, I agree with you. I also have a scar, on my face. The doctors had to stitch it on the inside and on the outside so it wouldn't hang funny. Unfortunately, I was three and my bike was a tricycle...0 -
Oh Hugs Ruth Honey. Hope your husband is ok.
Have a week of posts to catch up on - quick visit now - hope to catch up properly over the weekend if I am not sat in front of my tv with my stitching !! very quiet weekend planned - stitching/tv/reading - definitely no house work !!
