  • so many hugs seem needed at the moment reading recent posting. sending them especially to maria, the dragon, and louise and everyon e else who needs one. it gave me a lump in my throat reading your posts.

found a free chart by googling for a sampler type design with an xbox controller on that says home is where the (picture of controller inserted here) is. doing it for eldest DS his room is just being decorated so im doing the lettering in blue to match his decor. ive done the outline of the controller and the words "the" and "is". im going to fill the controller in in all white and perhaps add some extra backstitching to give it more detail on the controller and maybe add a border ill see how i get on.

love all the photos posted, the eye and butterfly chart looks stunning

  • Sorry to hear about your sad anniversary Maria. Hugs to you xx

It feels a bit inappropriate in view of the tone of todays posts, but I'm so happy today. I passed my driving test first time!!!!!!!!!!!! Took me months of lessons and 3 instructors but I finally got there :j:j:j:j:j:j

    Hi Girls

Sorry to hear sad stuff - hugs to you all. I am not able to have kids -went through a menapause at 27 - I would love to have them but I guess it won't happen. Also late hubbys family are awful - I don't get to see the kids now - one of them is my Godson. I think of him every birthday and christmas.

:T Well done Apocasaver in passing your driving test. :j

Wish we had spare money for hubby to do his - his american licence expired and now needs a UK one to drive - here or there.

    Kind wishes to all

    sweetcarer ;)

  • Evening folks,

Great big massive Zen hugs to all who want or need them tonight!

Happy Dance for me today - Sunflower Girl is finally finished and taken to the framers :j

I took a photo for my week 7 update but didn't get round to posting it so here it is - http://s618.photobucket.com/albums/tt268/rowantanner/?action=view&current=SunflowerGirl-Week7-21Feb2011.jpg

And then here is the finished article last night, tape removed, washed and pressed - http://s618.photobucket.com/albums/tt268/rowantanner/?action=view&current=SunflowerGirl-finished-27Feb2011.jpg

I have made some changes to the original chart, particularly the hair, in order to make her look more like my niece. The magazine reckoned on 70 hours to complete her so over the 55 days that she has taken me, that works out at an average of just over an hour and a quarter per day.

Special thanks to whoever it was who recommended Opus Frames in Beeston (nykied? - sorry, I've slept since then :)) - they currently have 10% off all framing - and here is a piece that some of you may remember as framed by Opus - http://s618.photobucket.com/albums/tt268/rowantanner/?action=view&current=Pheasant-framedFeb2011.jpg

I'm really pleased with it and now just have to find the right place to hang it (and it came with cord, hanger and nail on the back).

Now I need to get my life back and go back to my John Clayton Fuchsias which are only just over half done.

    Cheers,
    Ro

  • Mira, so sorry about your up and coming day. However its totally understandable. Take care :D

Apoca, :T on your driving test past :T

:o Opps, I went and purchased the lastest cross sticher magazine. Now I have chicks to stitch and I love the huge vintage rose, Mum's name is Rose so that's one for her for xmas. Have to stitch it in secret though.

Does anyone have the magazine? On page 44 its about the Olympia craft show. But it has a picture of cushions (union jack/london etc) that have been cross stitched and I really want to know the designer. Its there in the picture but I can't see it, its Jan something. Anyone know? Many thanks :D
