catch- up part 1.
caroline & Keiss & Bikerchick - i hope you all mend soon. x
Maria - your kiss looks brilliant! good on you for stitching something you dont love for someone that you do love, that's so nice. whilst i dont love the design either, i do really like the idea of the quilt squares as the background.
Chicky - i'm soo glad you enjoyed your first day of 'freedom' in so long. TLS - i like that.
nmm - congrats to your hubby! he should be really proud of his achievement! :TRelax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. Frugal Living Challenger. No buying cleaning products. I used MSE advice to reduce my car insurance from 550 to 325!! & paid it off in full!!!0 -
catch- up part 2Mags_cat: I moved to your neighbourhood last November am ok on the food parcel side but could do with a friend
bless you.
Marru & Sammr, but you do have quite a few friends... us! I do understand really. I live 20miles from the town where a lot of my friends live but i couldnt afford to live there. i have made a couple of friends in my small market town, mostly through talking to people in the highstreet and through yoga. good luck to us all.
sk00bie "hugs* you're not alone hun. it's a bad time for money and depression at least you're in the right place to find out more hints and tips... see my comment to Sweetcarer...
Ailsb - i'm sorry to hear you were made redundant. you're so right about stitching being good for you.
sweetcarer - i'm so sorry to hear of your troubles. i know i've been in similar when i had no job and benefits man told me i wasnt eligible so i had nothing coming in at all. it's scary but you are already in the right place to find support (us) and advice (the whole rest of MSE)
i hope you've found some good hints and tips elsewhere on MSE? i have to mention the Frugal Living Challenge, not coz you should join, though you could, but more for the HUGE list of IDEAS and then the even more HUGE list of of really helpful HANDY LINKS in the first post. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2952832
(if you dont already do it in some form, i've found the Spreadsheet of Wonder is very helpful to me to see where i overspend or where i can move one bit of money to help for a bill ect.)
re money worries and depression - personally i'm slightly alarmed i might be a bit manic at the moment (impending redundancy + buying a house bad timing) as i'm fine but really shouldnt be by past standards!
by the sounds of it i think we all need a one of theseRelax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. Frugal Living Challenger. No buying cleaning products. I used MSE advice to reduce my car insurance from 550 to 325!! & paid it off in full!!!0 -

About to head back to bed to try and get some more sleep, but wanting to give a quick update first.
My foot seems to be getting better, but ended up at the Fetal Assesment Unit yesterday. When I was getting ready for bed on Thursday night I noticed a pain in my tummy just where my waistband was...went to rub it and noticed a massive bruise. When I fell on Tuesday I must have hit my tummy on the arm of the settee on the way down. I was trying not to panic as I had felt Spudnik move and stuff but still phoned midwife on Friday morning and she made me go straight to hospital. Have to admit panic then set in, as she said placenta could be damaged in some way. After being strapped to all sorts of machines they told us nothing was wrong and that Spudnik was fine, although is breech, but still plenty of time to move.
When we got home I wasn't in the move for stitching but hubby got me to have another look at birth samplers and I choose this...

should go well in the nursery, which we have finally decided to do as a space theme, mainly because hubby fell in love with glow in the dark stars....lol. While I was on the website I also bought the threads needed for my next stocking which is a Snoopy design. Can't wait to start either of these projects...xx;)I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY;)0 -
I always have loads to catch up on lately. I hope everyone is feeling a bit more upbeat at the moment, and (((hugs))) to anyone that still needs them.
Maria - The KISS looks great! You're very lucky with your MIL, and that's so nice of you stitching that for her. My MIL is not so great unfortunately. We haven't spoken to or seen her or FIL since early June 2009. She has no interest in her grandchildren, would sit on facebook for hours on end and ignore the kids/us if we went round to visit. She then refused to attend our daughter's 5th birthday as it didn't interest her and that was the last straw . They always threw money at everything in preference to giving any time or effort. My hubby says as far as he's concerned he no longer has a mum or dad. On the plus side my parents are great though
postingalwaysposting - love Ollie he looks so cute!
Glad you and baby are ok caroline78, that must have been so scary. It's good that they saw you straight away and you got that reassurance. Hope your foot recovers as well.
Marru and Sammr I know how you feel. We've moved so many times in the last 8 years (about to go for move 14 ), so I never stay long enough to settle and make many friends. I always wish I could just go back home to Hertfordshire and my old friends, but I know it'll never happen so I should really face reality and try to make a go of new friends/settling somewhere. Oh well, hopefully I'll love the new house and settle properly. I drive hubby mad with my constant urge to move on :rotfl: Let's hope all of us make some new friends soon! I find it hard as my kids are at school now and I can't find a job, so I have no way of getting out and making friends.
pm- well done on the horses!
23rdspiral - sounds like you had a great day trip, well done on not spending too much, and well done on finishing the lemon bowl.
I didn't think I'd get stitching this week but the weather has kept us stuck in the house most of half term so I've really progressed. I have done loads on the rocket, so I'll update with a picture later. Hope everyone has a good weekend!0 -
