Creeps on...I did some stitching last night! :j:j

But tweaked my shoulder this morning (drying my hair would you believe!)..been to the physio (already had an appointment re my back)...and in agony this afternoon :(

Have tried to do some stitching, but rather painful...neck sore too so have a whopper of a headache now...think I wil go and have a lie down...hope it eases the pain!

You have my sympathies Keiss, I tore a muscle in my shoulder on Christmas Eve. Slipped on the ice after finishing work at 1 in the (Christmas) morning, grabbed the roof of my car and big OUCH.

Been hitting the painkillers big time and awaiting physio atm. Stitching has been very uncomfortable as it stiffens up so much sat at a desk all day. Started a new kit this morning and trying out my lap frame so will see how I get on with that!

Nmm czar is looking fab . well done is it hard to stitch on dark colours. oooh congrats to your oh. i've never been brave enough to try and i'm too old now.
It's quite a bit harder to stitch on than white but as long as you have some decent light and can see the holes its not too bad :)

My OH is in his early 40's so i'd say its never too late :D

  • Mum took and passed her shortly after my dad died, so she must have been about 49.:)
Unfortunately she doesn't drive now (She's 62) due to her Parkinson's, but it was good for her while she could.

Oh ladies, don't leave your work half done when you put it away,I've just spent the last half hour figuring out where I had got to with a small card kit. :( Why didn't I complete it when I started it years ago...

I asked but I don't think I will be doing anything anytime soon. I am reaching the bottom of my barrell - I am so very worried about money. We will only have my wage coming in and it will leave us with about £50 a week to pay for food, diesel, and gas & electric. I am so sick, hubby tries to reassure me but I can't sleep. I spent my lunch today crying - I was on my own. So sorry for my depression. You lot help so much, you are so kind, never forget that.

    Kind wishes

    sweetcarer ;)

We are always here for you - and many of us have been there and dive there with monotonous regularity still. My dh was out of work for two years (mainly his own stupid fault) but I hated the way I could do nothing about it. I ended up on here in a desperate attempt to slash our costs and have found it the nicest place in the world and there always plenty of hugs :)

I've posted this in the Flickr group but I've had to set it "Private" as my mother regularly scans my Flickr stream and I don't want her to know I've started this for her!

That's one span of the bridge done, and the colours are far less confusing than the pattern promised, so that's good :)

Those of you having tough times...I'm sorry it's hard now. I remember when it was bloody difficult for me. If any of you are close to Birmingham, I'd be delighted to offer a helping hand....coffee and cake, a small food parcel? Not charity...just like minded people helping each other out. It's never easy, but some of us are lucky enough to have enough to spare - and we'd like to share.

Hmmmmm mags cat you shouldn't go around offering cake late at night - some of us are only 100s of miles away and might just arrive (depending on the flavour obviously)

Have been very good recently as am trying to declutter aka flylady and have been decluttered a lot of my UFOs (ones I no longer love) to charity - have also decluttered my sewing basket and plan to do the same with my crafty box over the weekend. Still no stitching and is another parents evening and small boys birthday tomorrow so am saving all my stitching for saturday (yay)

I should probably qualify the offer and say that I'm not all that good at the science of baking...but I do a damn good muffin :D

Baking is all measurements, and combining things in the correct order. Muffins are more "chuck all the dry stuff in one bowl, mix in the wet stuff and don't mix it too much!"

Best on offer are the gingerbread + lemon icing (trust me, they're scrummy!)

I meant it, though ladies - if there's practical stuff we can offer then I for one am all for it :)
  • I have promised to make my two grandsons a special advent calendar 2011 - the kit of the one i wanted was almost £30!

Found it on Amazon the day before yesterday for a lot less, only one left, snaffled it before it had gone -

    here it is -

Im looking forward to it arriving so i can get cracking!

Mmmmm they sound like my favourites too - gingerbread :D

I echo Mags' offer - if there's anything you think we can do to help (practically, or emotionally, or a.n. other way) then shout xx
