Oh its lovely Mags cat, I wouldn't know that you had changed some of the outlining. Your next project looks challenging, lots of similar colours :D

    Thank you (and Dragon, too!).

The Autumn one is the last of a series of seasonal cross stitches I've done for my mum. One of the very first pieces I ever stitched was a winter scene, then a few years ago I did this one for summer and this one for spring :

Unfortunately - the very first one I did wasn't a John Clayton, so she's going to have one rectangular one and three round ones. You can see what's going to happen here, can't you? :rotfl:

At least there's virtually no backstitch on the Autumn one!

Hmmm Mags Cat, I hate to say this but I suspect more stitching is required!! (the final John Clayton and then of course you will need to do the rectangular set as well!) :rotfl:
Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup :D

Mags_cats your sampler looks great. I've sorted my colours and aida out but have decided to do some of my really old project, I'm still doing after 12+years.

Wish I was as quick as others, never mind off I go to plod along again.

I simplified the backstitching a little - took out some of the twiddly bits and lost all the french knots - cause I hate them! I think it looks good as it is and it wouldn't have needed all the extras anyway :)

Next project : Autumn Reflections (for my mum).

It looks great :T No one else will ever know that you 'personalised' it a little :D

LOVING those John Clayton circles - you deffo need to do that final circle one for your mum, they are gorgeous:j

I started my first picture (quite a big Winnie the Pooh one, with all the friends and lots of leaves) when I was about 18. I picked it up every few years or so and finally finished it in 2009, when I was 34 ;)

Thanks - there is hope for me then :rotfl:

My son says it will be finished for his 21st instead of his Christening.

    Oi, you....don't you join in!

(I know, I know....I'm going to have to do another circular one....*sigh*) :o

Thank you everyone for your kind comments - and thank you to the lovely person who ;)'d me the chart (and her spare threads!) to start with. I won't name you (for legal reasons!:D) but you know who you are! x

The sampler was quite quick to stitch - it has lots of big blocks of colour. I feel a bit more prepapred to tackle the huuuuuuuge Tenby Harbour scene now, having had a practice on this one...

If I remember I'll post a shot of Teresa Wentzler's Castle sampler that took me over a decade to stitch...

(It spent most of its time in the back of a cupboard and moved house with me, but I got there eventually!)

Think of it like this - the more time you spend on it, the better "value for money" it is because you get more hours of enjoyment (and frustration, but shhhh about that bit!) out of it.

    Or something....

Speaking of Teresa Wenztler - if anyone else, like me, loves her fantasy / dragon / celtic stuff she has a page of totally copyright free designs that you can use - it's here.
