:j yay my self imposed ban on xstitching is over...my house is nice and tidy and everything done apart from ironing coz clothes are still on the line outside...
its been nice having the back door open for a few hours, its amazing how stuffy somewhere can get without you realising....only closed it coz i can feel the chill setting in now that I've stopped running up and down the stairs etc
anyhow, just having a quick cuppa and catching up on here then its back to the xstitch whilst watching star wars on tv (even though i've lost count how many times I've seen it)
enjoy your stitching x0 -

Hi everyone.
I just got back home to Derby today.
The funeral, was on Wednesday, the same day that Ben Manning was found, who tragically died in very similar circumstances.
The tiny church really was packed out, several locals commented on how they had never ever seen so many people packed in to it, so yes, it was a great turn out, and my brother, who loved attention would have been chuffed to bits that so many peopke came to say goodbye.
The service was really nice and the music and hymn we chose were perfect for Steven, and he would have approved of them, especially the Godfather theme (GnR Live version) which he was carried in to, by his 3 closest friends and his gf's brothers, who really did him proud, and I was so proud of them myself.
The second song was 'Adieu' (by Enter Shikari), then we had the hymn 'When a Knight won his spurs', which was very fitting as Steven loved fantasy-type novels, films and games. We rounded off the service with 'The One and Only' (Yes! Chesney Hawkes!!), simply because he really was, and would not have ever wished to be anyone else! He also used to sing this song when we were in Skegness in this tunnel, so the echo's were great, when he was 3 years old, and he was word perfect!
My thoughts are with Ben's family right now, as unfortunately, I can totally understand what they are going through. I just hope they can get comfort from the huge amount of support from all the people out there, just like we did.
Anyways, enough rambling from me.
I would like to thank you all for thinking of us all during this hard time, I won't multi-quote you all, I don't need to, and as I have said before, thank you is not enough.13 Projects in 2013 Finished: 5 of 13

PM me with your email address and I'll see if I can dig it out tomorrow
Glad it went well, Soulie, I got tears in my eyes when I read your post. It's nice when a lot of people turn up, shows how much he meant to so many xox0 -
Another wide awake night for me...I have seriously gotten my days and nights mixed up, but on the plus side it means I can happily watch DVD's and stitch away to my heart's content.
I am hoping to have the Angel finished before I go to bed, and then that just leaves the name and wee designs along the top to do tomorrow.
I will get a picture up tomorrow as hubby is snoring away and I think would murder me if I woke him to get his phone off him...lol;)I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY;)0 -
Morning all
Soulie, I'm so glad ur brother got the send off he deserves, my thoughts were with u x
Well I had a good stitching day yesterday, finished house number 6 and made good progress on house 7My plan for the day is a quick tidy up downstairs and get a load of washing and ironing done, then I have my friend coming over this afternoon to talk wedding make up and also DD1 will b dropped off at about 3. OH was away to Devon at 7.30am so they shoudl b there now, not too sure when he will b back but his parents will prob pop in for a cuppa before they carry on with their journey so better have the place respectable
Then I can stitch to my hearts content tonight and fingers crossed I can get my DOH finished by the end of Feb!

Morning all,
This arrived yesterday!. It's the most "grown up" x-s I've ever owned, I usually do pics with lots of bright colours.
It took me ages last night to find all the threads - despite the monochrome appearance it actually uses 70 colours . Luckily I've got them all (I've built up my stash over the years when I've been on holiday to the US where they cost around 20 pence each).
The chart spreads over 6 pages but it only measures 8 x 10 on 14 count.
Anyway I can't commit as to how long this challenge will take, I've not finished stitching last years' Christmas cards yet (but they should be ready for next Christmas). :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
