I did a bit more Lemon Bowl last night, but it was soo hard... i kept miscounting or not remembering what i was doing... too worried about work i think.

i sew all sorts, machine, hand, embroidery and Xstitch. i find them all interchangable skills wise. (makes me perfect target audience for the newstyle Cross Stitcher maybe?). i sometimes have trouble with following patterns due to my dyslexia but get there eventually even if i have to make it up!

Mags - the backstitch is SO effective!

Soulie - will be thinking of you, and your family, tomorow. i'd like to light a candle too, if you dont mind?

thanks for caring. um, not really, but i HAVE to go in on a extra day this week for a meeting with HR... so that'll be it. i think they have to give me notice though, so we'll see. i'm a jangly mess at the moment, whizzing from 'i can do anything' manic and productive, to 'what's the point in trying i'm highly specialised therefore highly useless' dispare. right this minute, i'm neither as i'm on here and distracted!

Thing with me is, I used my Mum's sewing machine fine just before Christmas, threaded it myself and everything. It's just that it's mine and what if it goes wrong? Hehe...

the WORST that can happen is that you;ll have the tension so very wrong the needle will break. and then all you do is re-read the tension bit in the book, wiggle a few knobs, tugg on the thread to check it does actually move and pop in a new needle. that's the Worst. and it's not that bad really. (esp since john lewis started doing 99p for 4 needles).

How about grabbing an old pillow case or shirt (Not a Tshirt, they're much harder), and just practising a few simple stitches... check out the Sewing Thread for help, i dont want to take over here!

Soulie-just to say I'll be thinking of you tomorrow. I hope it goes as well as these things can.

Same here Soulie - thinking of you.

I was just thinking there (my statistical head on) and did you know we had 1367 messages posted here since start of January - that is an average of 44 messages a day. Also we have had 27,133 hits. I think that is very impressive for our wee cafe.

So give yourself all a pat on the back we deserve it - no kicking backsides.

    Take care

seeing all the lovely designs on here makes me want to spend

because i havent stitched for a while i'm pretty much starting from scratch with threads so i have to buy them all for everything i want to do :(

then i get impatient having to wait for them to come when i order them cheaper online. when i get an idea in my head i just want to do it right now!

Sounds like my OH, he decided at the beginnning of this year to buy a car and learn to drive. By the 11th January a car was parked out front, taxed insured and Mot'd. Then he sorted out his new photocard license and booked 10 lessons(completed last Friday) now he has his theory test tomorrow. He really doesn't like hanging about :rotfl:
