i'm feeling really down and disgruntled today. HR have called me in on a day i'm not working for an important meeting that i can only guess is the Redundancy Notice meeting. harumph.

i'm going to try to stitch tonight to stop me eating all the xmas shortbread.

hi Marru! if you want you could scan your work and show us... but i'm sure you're doing it right - any style of Xstitch book in any library will have the same instructions - just make sure all the top stitches of each X are going the same way! so ///// down a row then \\\\\ back along it, or the other way, i can never remember!

However I bought this lovely cross stitch kit of a dog that I meant to do for my friend for wedding present. The problem is that it was her second anniversary Christmas gone :o. I would still like to do it but haven't even managed to put it on a frame.

Any kick up the backside gratefully received.

I once started a lovely design of Bluebell Woods for my Granda's 75th birthday, he died when he was 86 and I still haven't completed it..

    Consider yourself Kicked....:D
    ;)I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY;)
  • I started a birth sampler for my nephew and never finished it........he's now 18! So yes considered yourself kicked :D

oh and a while back we were talking about How People Stitch... and here you can see i kinda follow the colour and do chuncks of it. probably not the easiest route, and definaltey not as quick as those that grid i'm now sure, but its what happens naturally for me!

Lol, well I started my daughter's birth sampler when I was 8 weeks pregnant, and she'll turn 7 soon. Looks like we're all as bad as each other!

Hope everythings ok, were you expecting to be made redundant? I find bad news always has me reaching for the chocolate and the ice cream, I can't concentrate on stitching if I'm really stressed.

I need a kick too! Two kicks, in fact! I've started a picture of a windmill with stripy fields in front of it, to send to one of my friends in Australia for Christmas. Only it was last Christmas and it's still only part-way (a small part!) done :o

I also got a sewing machine for Christmas and I've not even oiled it yet. I'm scared in case I'm too rubbish to use it :(
  • Evening folks,

Big Zen hugs for all who want or need them, and especially big ones for Soulie and her family on Wednesday.

This is my Week 4 update - I want to have her finished by 28 Feb so only 4 more weeks to go - I think that I'm going to have to stitch harder, especially as I've got to change the colour of the hair to ginger and make it longer!

    http://s618.photobucket.com/albums/tt268/rowantanner/?action=view&current=SunflowerGirl-Week4-31Jan2011.jpg

I've started the half cross stitch around her feet - the problem there is remembering to do the stitch to match the top stitch in the full cross stitch.

Well, must crack on - I've got a list of jobs to do as long as my arm ;)

    All the best,
    Ro
