I did textiles at school and I hated it. I didn't get on with the teacher and although I love cross stitching I can't sew. I just can't do it. I always get things the wrong way round. It's a shame as it's something I would love to be good at (I slip into fantasies where I make wedding dresses but you can't be good at everything. I have been learning cake decorating forjust over a year and it comes as naturally as breathing.#19 Save £12K in 2019 challenge. Target = £10,000. Progress = £1136.09/10,000 (11.36%)

Wow, you're all putting me to shame. I've had to stop Alan Manley's Gracious Era to do a wedding sampler for one of hubby's work colleagues - well that's one item out of the suitcases :j
Also quick question here. I'm thinking of a last minute trip to the stitching show at Manchester and as I don't buy the cross stitch magazines any more (they just mount up and make me feel guilty about the number of them I've got) does anyone have one that has a promotional code in to get the discounted rate on the tickets? That's a bit of money I can spend on threads LOL! Thanks! But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green0 -
Just had a browse through the thread everyones stitching is looking fab. I have finally ordered the supplies to start my HEAD
can't wait to get started on it, for now though I have just started 1-2-3 Bears a kit I have had for a long time, not quite sure I have sorted the threads correctly as its iffy at the moment but the colours are so difficult to sort!!!

Not too great at the moment so I've been reading the thread but not been able to get my head to put sentences together for the last few days!
Everyones stitching looks great. I've not touched Titanic for a while but here's a pic (or link - whichever it decides to let me do) of the Kingfisher progress.
OK, it's still not playing - the link is http://flic.kr/p/9eRsa1
...Sewing machines....mum lent me hers a few weeks ago and it's still sat on the kitchen table in its case - why do we find them so daunting!?!
Anyway, hope things are going well for you all.
Soulie my thoughts are with you, especially for tomorrow

Thing with me is, I used my Mum's sewing machine fine just before Christmas, threaded it myself and everything. It's just that it's mine and what if it goes wrong? Hehe...0

dont be worried about sewing machines, my mum was always on hers every sunday she would spend the day in her bedroom making stuff clothes curtains anything she needed. when i had my son i had some lovley bedding that i wanted made in to cot bedding and instead of getting my mum to do it i brought my sewing machine and did it myself the feeling of satisfaction from doing mself was great, with everything there is a learning curve and everytime i make something i see i have improved and sewing machines are very robust and quite difficult to break, so please dont leave them sitting there open them up get some old material and give it a go if the worst comes to worst unpick it and start it again13 in 2013 challenge 9/130

I can't sew at all...even a simple button onto a top...lol
My hubby is quite short and so always needs jeans and trousers turned up, but luckily my Mum is a whizz with needle and thread..
Think I have replied to everyone's PM's....I will get things in the post over the weekend for you all.
I have done some more on the Angel stocking so will get another picture up later when hubby gets his phone charged up..xx;)I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY;)0 -
