Have loved this thread and like others it has kept me amused over the festive period! However , how are they going to get the coffin into the campervan?? Keep it going as there is nothing on TV worth watching!0

A friends mother died, and was cremated, and the urn brought home to sit on the mantelpiece till "scattering day" arrived.
Her young son asked his step-dad - whats in there ? - pointing to the urn
Step-dad - without thinking - replied "granny" and instantly regretted it
After a long pause the child then said "did they have to fold her up to get her in?"
boom boom - true
so there's your answer to the campervan-coffin problem !0 -
Nothing to report except that the funeral is next Weds afternoon. For some reason the body is going to come to the campervan the day before at 3pm and will be collected the next day for the burn up.
Mrs J has informed me the campervan went out for a time and came back. Mrs J was walking the dog and came home to find numerous Iceland shopping bags outside the house with Mrs C waiting. So the fridgefreezer is now stuffed with low grade party food.
Mrs J did try and wind up the Clampetts by asking whether they were doing desserts at the wake, to which mrs C said she had forgotton. Mrs C asked Mrs J, "what do you think I should get thats nice"
Creme Brulee Mrs J delivered in such a po face manner.
So after unloading the shopping, Mrs C and Mr C are in the garage rifling through Enid's stuff to find something to bury her in and also some keep sakes to add to the coffin. Which I think is pointless, but probbaly a good way of clearing the garage by burning it at the Radyr crem.0 -

Sadly, they only want murder mystery submissions and as we all know, the dog didnt do it and I didnt push Enid down the stairs.0 -
Sorry, I didn't read it properly - shame.0

"" the dog didnt do it and I didnt push Enid down the stairs""
you could fictionalise it into that scenario tho !0 -
what is it with old people and pleated skirts?
I have come home (knocked off early) to arrive in my dining room to a pile of clothing with Mrs C with a hankie in one hand blubbering over which Littlewoods pleated skirt to cremate her in.
I had to laugh because on the table with the clothes was a pack of Tena lady and I am hoping she isnt going to pass them onto the funeral director to be fitted. Besides by now, Enid's bladder will be frozen solid.0
