Yes....I don't understand what all the complaints are about. Sales aren't for the benefit of the customer, remember, it's for the store to get rid of unsold stock quickly. If there's very little unsold stock then from the point of view of the store their buyers have done a good job and their stock control and handling has been a sucess. If the store only has a small amount of crappy stuff left to put in the sale then it's a sucess as far as they're concerned. Or if the first 1,000 people through the virtual door clear out the stock, that's a sucess too. Whoever thought the VIP slot thing up was a marketing genius. You think the store cares who buys the stuff or whether its "fair"? You think stores are in the business for the sake of the customers????? More fool us for falling for all their hype tbh.

So does it mean that there is no point in going for instore sale becouse everything is already sold out?
  • i never find anything in the next sale to begin with, but as others pointed out lots of people go mad then take it back again, i have managed to get at least most of what i wanted by waiting a week or two then go back onto the site every morning at 3am, thats when it all goes back on , if your patient enough and dont mind abit of sleep deprevation then you may get a bargain or two:)

I moaned because it's not fair that some people get VIP slots, the sale should be open to everyone at the same time (like all the other stores) and then if you get what you want you are lucky and if you miss out then at least you feel you had a good chance.

Some people don't live near a Next store or can't get to one, maybe they have kids and can't get to the store for 5am, I'm lucky as my OH is off so I can just go on my own I wouldn't be able to take my 3 kids with me and wouldn't drag them out of bed at 4am, I've been to the sale before and people have bought their babies in prams and young children and it's so busy that the poor things get squashed.

Also when I registered for Next I was never offered a Credit account was only offered the option to pay with a credit card each time so never get a VIP slot, I've requested numerous catalogues but never get them so I'm never going to get a VIP slot. I've also seen people selling all this stuff on Ebay and they have like 10+ of a certain item and there is no way they've got it all from going in the store.

I do like this Christmas sale though as it goes on for a week or so and people return things so you can always pick stuff up that is returned.

  • the main problam with the next sale they tend to sell off off all the excess stock from past seasons and old stock from the warehouse.

No - it's the directory part that's got nowt left not the stores.

Every time I've been at 5am there are families with huge bags just taking everything so it's not just online that it happens. And people who go to toy sales and just swipe everything off the shelf into their trolley. Grrrr.
