Maldives & MSE - not your usual combination!

I didn't realise it had been so long since I had posted :eek:

Was DD's birthday yesterday so we went and did some more pottery painting, good news is that OH paid out for it as he owed me some money for shopping so it didn't cost me anything other than some petrol . Am SO SO annoyed with Natwest this morning....I bought lots of card making bits on Ebay as I am going to start making some, they all come out of my old Natwest account through paypal. Normally I have no money in that account as I use a newer one but usually they account goes overdrawn and as long as I see it before 2pm and top it up it's fine. Had 5 emails from paypal this morning to say that the bank won't honour the payments so they have reversed it and will use my back up funding source (the new account). Don't understand this at all and means I am probably going to get charged £5 per transaction :mad::mad::mad:. Not sure there is anything I can do as they will just say I should have put the money in there!

Have updated my savings and change pot totals for now. Don't have a huge amount of money left in the bank but am determined not to dip into savings. Need to make some cards and try and sell them I think! :rotfl:

Funny you say that Becs, when I dropped a 50p in my change pot earlier I noticed the total and thought oooooh I must update, didn't realise it had been that long though :rotfl:.

Things not going too bad here, had a poor savings month in August as it was summer holidays and I am already broke this month as I have paid out £165 to get the brakes and over heating problem sorted out on my car...was so worth it! My usual garage actually fitted my thermostat back to front and my abs sensor too far away from the wheel :mad:, my new mechanic is writing up a report and I am going to send a snotty letter to see if I can get some compensation because it's disgusting. Anyway, I am waiting for some expenses to come back for two exams I paid to enter in December so I expect savings to be somewhere arouund £700 in total at the end of this month. It might be more like £750, just depends how frugally I can live till then! My change pot is looking rather good though , I had been putting £1 and £2 coins in a seperate pot ready for Xmas but after winning £300 of shopping vouchers in a facebook comp I decided to move them over! Treated myself to two new work shirts and bought DD some PJ's for Xmas and still have £260 left which I am going to save to buy Xmas pressies.

Another month has come off my DMP so I am close to £3.5k now :beer:, the plan is due to end on 1st October 2012 but hopefully it will be more like June, not that far away really! Now officially under 200 days till Kenya but I keep forgetting that we have even booked it! Only other news is that I passed my two June exams so I am now officially part qualified, yay! Just 5 more to go!

Well done on exams, savings, DMP total and competition winnings! That's an excellent prize. I did well when I used to enter them, should get back into it really....

The front of the canvas was awesome, the sides were a bit blurry but you can't really tell when it's on a wall! It was from cool4cards, here is a link to one of their auctions...

I've been doing the £10 a day challenge for a few months now, and have met target through working pub etc but have upped to £15 for October to make me try to raise some cash outside of that.

One of my ideas is selling my photos so I'm hoping to get some put onto canvas cheaply so that I can sell on for a profit. If I do say so myself (:o) I've got some great wildlife shots from Africa so I'm hoping to put these to use.

Becs, hopefully I will hear from the Whaleshark people this month, if I am not going out next summer with them then I will be going to the Maldives on holiday at the end of June one way or another!

Have been very busy recently, 5 weeks ago I had a big wake up call about my weight when I saw pictures of myself at a friends wedding reception . So I have been swimming twice a week, going to Zumba and doing a boxercise class, this week I have added a second Zumba class. It means I am out of the house every week night because I go to mums on a Tuesday as well so I am struggling to keep on top of housework etc. I have lost around half a stone so far which isn't too bad, I want to lose about 50 pounds in total so I have a way to go yet. The classes are costing me £15 a week plus my swimming membership so it's not very MSE but I am so tired at the weekend I am not going out to spend any money :rotfl:.

I've had a few more great prizes come through from comping even though I have had to stop due to the exercise! A £25 M&S voucher (I Still have £200 of shopping vouchers from the other comp), a bottle of grand marnier and some make up from Rimmel so that sets me up well for Christmas. Savings hasn't been going too bad, I made it up to £800 dead this month but am trying to be careful enough to add a little more just before payday on the 25th. Change pot is also sitting just over £81 I think so might pay that in at some point to top up the balance.
