Our dept syndicate that had 6 tickets won £5.80
Mine and Ohs ticket won £9 :rotfl:
Not life changing by any means!
I'm going to Beckton, I am pretty sure it's technically London but it seems more Essex to me! Can't say I am looking forward to it
I read Dan Browns 'The Lost Symbol' yesterday, wasn't as good as Angels & Demons but it was interesting as it explores the concept of Noetic Science. The basic theory is that human thought's are actually a physical substance with the ability to physically interact with the world around us. Although the book is fictional it refers to a number of real experiments that have taken place and I will definitely be reading more about it. I used to read lots but hadn't picked up a book in years and had forgotten how much I enjoy it. Today I ordered another two books from Ebay for 99p each, they totalled £3.33 in total so I think that was allowed?
Did the ironing etc so had another no spend weekend, I am getting good at these :j

Hi Jody
Just dropping by for a quick catch up - thanks for the Dan Brown review, I've just finished the book I was reading so I'll keep an eye out for that one next

I've ordered Digital Fortress by Dan Brown as well so will let you know what I think of it!
Very cheap week so far, had to dash home at lunch on Monday to have littleun as she wasn't feeling well. I was supposed to meet an old work colleague for dinner but had to cancel so OH took me to Harvester instead. I paid for some drinks but that was out of the £10 he randomly gave me that morning so there was no cost to meYesterday I had to go to London and the only money I spent was on the tolls which I have claimed back from work. Had a blood test this morning and had to begrudgingly spend 40p on parking :rotfl:
Hopefully seeing TRansformers tonight, OH has got the Orange Wednesday code and I am going to supply some sweets bought from the shop. At the moment I have £26.60 left in my purse from this weeks allowance but I will need to put some more petrol in the car because of the journey yesterday. Fortunately I have put an expenses claim in for £28 which I will get early next week so I will add that to savings.
Overall it has gone quite well so far but next week is my mums birthday (£25 already put aside) and then my friends birthday and she wants us to go into town for drinks, I feel like I should go as it's her birthday and she has basically begged me to but I really don't like town anymore. Maybe we will just go in for a couple early on in the evening.
Mum gave me almost £10 of 20p's last night that she puts away for me, that's gone in the change pot so the balance will be much nicer this week :j

Hey you,
Seems to be swimming along nicely. That was nice of your mum with the 20p's
OH went to see Transformers last night and enjoyed it - boys night. More like becoming a child for a night again!
How funny I was in London yesterday for work....hate the early rise, so tiring not to mention the 6hrs travelling time there and back
I love the Dan Brown books, may have to re-read some. I love doing that with a good bookxx

I absolutely LOVED transformers, OH is the one who isn't actually that keen but it reminds me of my youth
. I did get a lump in my throat when one of the autobots died and I had to remind myself that it's not real and it's only a robot
. I only spent £1.67 on sweets from the shop, OH bought the tickets (we did Orange Wednesday) and he bought us a burger king too which was really nice of him.
I had to put £15 of petrol in the car last night, I should probbably take it out of my budget but I am not going to. My reasoning is that I used more because I did a day in London for work and I am getting the money back for it next week.
Didn't bring my little note book in with me so will have update this weeks spend tomorrow, I'll update the change pot total too.

Nice cheap night out at the cinema
I am jealous of the BK even though I did have one for lunch on Monday!
Debt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0 -
I have to admit that I really am not keen on BK anymore, I used to love a big greasy bacon double cheeseburger but not anymore!
Just a quick update from me as work is busy!
Total spend this week (Excluding the extra petrol) came in at £46.09/£60.00 :j. Good budget week! I had about £18 in my purse so put my change in the change pot and £15 aside for birthdays and £1.50 in my Xmas pot.
Change Pot is now £38.52/£100
Haven't got much left in the bank as I moved loads of money into Savings but am hoping I can last the 11 days till payday!
On other news, I *think* I won a months supply of Rice Krispie Squares last night on their facebook game, I was in the top 5 quickest entries so just waiting for an email. I also sent my application off to do 2 weeks volunteering with the Maldives Whale Shark Research Project and this morning had an email saying that when they have finalised their 2012 dates they will be back in touch to sort out my trip.....so not sure if they have already accepted me?!?! The email reads like they have. Thing is, I hadn't even mentioned it to Andy as their website says they only select a handful of applicants who apply. Just sent him a long text to say I had applied and it sounded like I had been accepted but I wasn't sure

I decided to bite the bullet and ask about the selection process, hopefully that will indicate whether I have already been accepted or not!
Managed to finally make a decision on buying DD's birthday netbook/laptop. After weeks of searching on Ebay and reviewing specs etc we have opted for a little Dell D430, my boss used to have one as his office laptop and they are really diddy. It has plenty of hard drive storage for her and the processor speed is miles more superior than any of the netbooks I have looked at. I thought it was a bargain at £120 including delivery. I think we are splitting the cost 3 ways (me, OH and my mum) so £40 each is pretty good. I also bought my mum a copy of Dan Browns The Lost Symbol as she seemed keen on it when I told her what is was about, need to add that to my spend total for this week. Not adding in DD's birthday present as knew that would have to come from savings.
OH has had to go out today to finish off some plumbing work for his college course so I have entered about a million comps from facebook and the competitions board here :rotfl:

Oh, the netbook deal is really good though on the Grabbit section there is one half price from Carphone Warehouse, have a look if you still haven't ordered it. It's the same price but originally cost £240.
Fingers cross for selection process, that would be awesome!0
