I feel the same. While as couple's I think that things should be fair and not this is mine that is yours kind of thing, I often feel incredibly guilty that OH seems to have to suffer/make up for sometimes the mistakes I made years before I met him xDebt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0

Thats how I know I should feel! But I never can, when I said him make the payments I just meant then be in his name, I am more than happy to pay the majority of the lease because it will be me that uses it.
I have got a bit better about taking money from him, hence the invoice for holiday deposits!

It is hard Jody, i'm the same. It's only this year that I have accepted OH's help in that he pays a little more to the joint acc for bills so that it frees up some of my cash.....we've been together nearly 6yrs and I still struggle with it and often end up paying more towards the shopping to pay back the diff, how made am I?!
I think being in debt makes it harder, and I always feel guilty that my past is stopping us (only in a financial sense) getting where we would like to be0 -
I know exactly what you mean hun! We went through a phase of I did all the shopping and then just asked him for half but I was always rounding it down or just not asking at all because I felt bad
. It's crazy because he had much more dispoable income than me! I did ask him if he would help out with DD's birthday present as she wants a netbook and straight away he was trying to give me £100 . I just don't like asking, fortunately quite often he will just give me £20 or so but I do like to feel like I am paying my way in everything.
I think it will have to change if we buy a house together, we would probably treat it as one pot and he is more than happy to do that, it's me with the issues!

I have just amended my signature, I've dropped the savings total by the deposit's already paid as they have obviously come off the balance. The actual amount left to pay each on the holiday is £1,117 and on the Safari is £306.40 so I will cover all of the holiday balance by the end of the year (hopefully) and then I can set a new target for the Safari balance and spending money.
Hope that makes sense!

I think it is 28 days.....I am sure that's what it said on the receipt I got when I didn't use my clubcard (which was actually money I had spent but didn't have my card on me)

Well tomorrow is new weekly allowance day so I thought I would update how this week has gone by listing all my spends;
£8 lottery (naughty)
£1 Chips
£5.05 Meal
£6.26 Drinks
£4.75 for canvas print of holiday pic
£2 Lunch at work
£4 flowers for mum
£1 'tip' for DD
£15 petrol
71p for a can of coke today
Grand total - £47.77/£60.00 :j
I must have had some cash left over from last week because after putting some change in my pot I had £7 left and I also put £10 back in the bank. I have put £5 aside for mums birthday on the 21st July and the £2 coin has gone in my Xmas pot.
New change pot total is £24.70 so will update my sig.
Going for dinner on Monday with my friend who seems to think she is paying but obviously I will offer my half. Other than that hopefully it will be a fairly quiet week so I can tuck a bit more aside for Mums birthday. There were quite a few odd expenses this week like £8 on lottery and flowers for mum (I always buy her flowers when I get paid) so it seems to be working ok at the moment. I know I will need to spend more on petrol this week as I had some left in the tank from last week to get me through this week.

Seems your budget is working out Jody.....well done you, i'm rubbish at sticking to them!
Do you actually take the cash out each week? You've given me something to think about/kick up backside. May start myself a new budget from next week :T0 -
The idea was to take the cash out because I realised that I find it really hard to keep tabs on my debit card, I tend to use it, bin the receipts then forget I ever used it in the first place! That said, there aren't any cash points on my way to work and back so what I will do today is put £25 petrol in my car to last the week and then draw out £30 next time I get to a cash point or maybe £35 if they will let me as I have noticed quite a few have £5 notes now!
I think doing it weekly is better for me because I know if I run out of money then I only have a few days to wait before getting some more :rotfl:. The spending diary really helps as well
