    Thanks EB!

Just been shocking myself with the cost of diving in the Maldives . It's working out at around £50 per dive and I can't see any way of it costing less. I think that's a pretty standard price but it's still making me EEK a little :rotfl:

Oh had some good news today, I passed both of my exams :D! I got 68% on one and just scraped through with a 53% pass on the other, no June re-sits :j.

That's brilliant news, well done you! Hope OH takes you out for a few drinkies to celebrate at the weekend :D

How many dives are you hoping to do while you're away? That does seem expensive to me, but I've never done any diving so I have no idea what's involved
I think I'm too stingy to take up any expensive hobbies though, DH is away skiing with his Dad and brothers at the weekend (luckily paid for by FIL!), and we went to the ski shop to get him some new gloves (£45 ). I couldn't believe the prices of even the simplest equipment, I'm not sure I could ever bring myself to contemplate going on a skiing holiday! Plus I don't like being cold or falling over, so it's probably not my sport! :rotfl:

congrats on the pass Jody! I always used to stress out if I got less than 70% (I had it in my head that it was distinction or nothing) until my boss pointed out that anything more than a pass was a waste of effort! I'm sure he was just being nice but he has a point!

    WEll done you.

As for the dive cost - yes, it is a lot, but its not like you do it every day...

    Thanks Woo!

I was glad I got 68% in my Tax exam as I put in a lot of studying for it. I also didn't answer the last question at all which was ten marks so technically I got 68/90 :rotfl:

Thanks for the encouragement EB! I actually just had an email from the dive centre and it isnt as bad as I first thought, their website seems to show equipment hire at a much higher price than they charge on the island, weird! To upgrade to my open water qualification and then do 10 dives with all equipment included would be approx £520. I am not sure I will do that many as it's 12 in total so I'd be diving every day. I might book to do 5 plus my two qualifying dives so 7 in total, I can always book more when I am there, it just costs a bit more :(. That said, OH and I want to do the dolphin cruise etc so maybe 7 is enough!!!
