I know just what you mean! Before that B*%&$ drove into my car last week DH and I were planning a little holiday to the lake district to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary. We found an amazing cottage for under £480 for the week, but we'll probably have to put it off, as we now need to buy another car.
Have spent all day looking at autotrader and thinking, i WANT a Polo, but I also want a car less that 4 years old and they're waaaay out of the budget. If we just bought a very cheap runaround we could still go on hols, but then it might not be reliable. I mainly want the stupid blind woman not to have driven into my lovely economical Ka
Plus having had a lovely visit with my nephew yesterday I WANT WANT WANT a baby! Even though he was sick on nearly every piece of clothing I had on in one go (vest top, cardy, bra, skirt and tights, good work! :rotfl: ) he gave me such a gorgeous grin afterwards that I just loved him more!Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
Sorry to hear about your car Jules, I need to catch up with everyones diaries....will do it tonight as OH has managed to injure his hand so we can't play badminton!
I just don't know how I am going to manage it all and it's bogging me down a bit! I know I am very lucky to be going away so I don't want to sound ungrateful, I can't really talk to OH about it as he doesn't do 'planning for the future', certainly not in the same sense that I do! His answer would be, lets worry about it if/when it happens!

I realised last night that I am just being greedy really! No-one can really have it all (unless they earn mega bucks), I earn a decent amount with the potential for more so I am in a much better position to be able to buy a house etc than I ever thought I would be so I can't moan too much.
I think it is more the not feeling in control as a lot depends on OH, also a lot of waiting involved and I am not the most patient of people.
Anyway, was waiting for the update to show you this:
Estimated Total Remaining Debt £5172.08
:j
It means that I will be sub £5k before my birthday which will be nice. Just waiting to get back to financial normality before deciding how much I can up my payment by.

That's fab! I am very much looking forward to being under £5k.
It's human nature to want it all, especially what we don't have. The fact we now know we can't have it will mean we don't fall into the debt trap again xxLoan - [STRIKE]£6991.95[/STRIKE]£6180.01; Barclays Res - [STRIKE]£600[/STRIKE] £0 - £22 per week , NWB Grad O/D - [STRIKE]£1185[/STRIKE] £887.86 18.28% SWALEC - [STRIKE]£700[/STRIKE] £0 NPOWER [STRIKE]£220[/STRIKE] £0 Kays - [STRIKE]£591.28[/STRIKE] £0 TOTAL DEBT - [STRIKE]£10,288.23[/STRIKE] £7,000.01 31.96 % Paid off. Morning All,
Well I had my skin specialist appointment this morning. The doctor was quite abrupt! He ran through what I have already had and my future options, he did ask if I wanted to try light therapy again but unfortunately it means hours out of the office and it's a logistical nightmare so I said that wasn't really an option.
He said he wants to refer me to the head of dermatology at the hospital to undergo testing for biological drugs. I am really happy about this as I thought I would have to fight for them due to the cost. The scoring system they use also takes into account whether it makes you feel self conscious and stops you for socialising, wearing certain clothes etc so obviously I scored quite highly! I am going to ask OH to come with me to see the consultant as we are going to have to answer some serious questions about whether we want to have children or not and I think it's only fair he is involved in the decision. A lot of them cannot be used in pregnancy and there is normally a waiting period after treatment in which you are told not to try for a baby due to medical side effects and it's a minimum of a year.
Hopefully it wont take that long to get an appointment as the Dr said they deal with most cases at local level, only referring the higher end cases to the consultant.
It's shame it is going to play havoc with the possibility of children but I can live with it if it means I can have a few years of 'normal' skin!

Good luck with your appointment. I think it's a good idea to take your OH and maybe discuss how far in the future you would have wanted to have children if this wasn't even an issue. You will have your answer there - if it was going to be sooner rather than later then wait, if you were going to wait a few years anyway (until ready, DF etc) then go for it

oooh babies
afraid I zoned out the rest of your post in my current uber-broody state
have now reread it, good news that they're open to putting you on it, fingers crossed it makes a big difference!
Is this medication something that you need to be on constantly to maintain the effect? If so, would they be open to you stopping it for 1-2 years in order to have a baby and then restarting?Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160
