Good Morning All!
So glad you are home, Molly!
Hilstep great to see you posting!
DS was discharged from hospital this morning and will be coming up here later today. I was very worried about his new job, but they have been very understanding and he now has a week off to recover properly. As he had expected to be working until 3pm on Christmas Day with all that that would entail in trying to get here after that this is real bonus!
Also, his ex and our DGD managed to finally fly from Heathrow this morning so will be spending Christmas with the family in Germany after all. Life is improving! I have even put up the tree etc. this morning!!
Didn't get to sleep until well after 3.30am so not feeling great today - but have little to do so not really bothered. Wonder why I can be really tired until my head hits the pillow - and then be very very wide awake??
Anyhow, hope you are all OK and not too stressed out. Keep warm and take care. (Incidentally my thanks button is playing up - if it does work then the whole page freezes and refreshes itself - so consider yourselves thanked anyway!!)Resolution:

Hi everyone,
My last day at work today (hopefully because I might have to come in tomorrow morning if my sick colleague can't manage it). I've been by myself for most of the week so it's been very quiet.
Had Christmas lunch yesterday. We only have 12 staff (town council) and before I came they never did anything. For the past three years I've provided a buffet lunch for everyone otherwise there wouldn't be anything (can't take the money out of the public purse).
I've got to make a list for tonight and tomorrow morning, I need to wrap OH's remaining presents, make some macaroons with the spare egg white and pack. I'm also making a yummy looking pud - Salted caramel, chocolate and pecan tart. I bought DD a cookbook from her favourite chocalatier, Paul Young who has a shop in Islington, and before I wrapped it I copied the recipe. I hope it turns out ok.
If I don't get back I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas.0 -

Morning All,
Molly dont you dare!!!
Pollys hope you start to feel more comfortable soon, disturbed sleep just makes you feel so lousy,
Well, DP has left on his trek to Wigan to pick up DD2 & family & I have a long list of things to do. I'd like to get as much done as possible today so I can spend tomorrow with the lo's:) So far I have put some chicken carcasses, veg & herbs on to make some stock, emptied DW, changed our bed & put wm on & hoovered & mopped downstairs, so def time for a cuppa. Then I am going to get DS out of bed to walk the dogs & pop to the co-op to top up the gas & leccie with the cold weather payment I got today. I was going to cook the gammon this morning but it hasn't defrosted so I may put that on overnight tonight, will also make some more mincepies & some sausage rolls at some point. Ds has to tidy his room as two of the lo's will be in with him on the nights they are here (we are sharing them with Sil's family) so he can do the rest of the hoovering upstairs for me.
Right I'm off to crack on as I would like to be sat down with the wrapping for 2.20 to watch a miracle on 34th St
Hope everyone has a good day & keeps safe & warm
Hugs, spoons & hi5's all round x

Im suitably chastened and back in bed. Thank you for all your kind wishes - really touching xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Just a quick update, had a shower then changed dressing (was dreading having a look) but It's just a little scar about 4cm and looks fine just bruised and swollen. I feel so much better for a shower and washing my hair. DS3 helped make the chocolate Krispies and licked out the bowl. Feeling quite Christmassy now, going to potter around as I'm much better up and moving gently, I promise not to over do it.
All children now up, just had a message my friend is calling down later so best get on.
Molly - Please rest, I did too much too soon and ended up slowing my recovery down (disc)
Take care

Bramble1 - hugs, my DH is gargling with salt water for his sore throat and eating crunchy food, like crisps, cornflakes- the doctor said it scrapes the gunge off the back of your throat.

Thanks pollys will try both of them. Going to bite the bullet and get something i think though - won't be well enough to finish my christmas shopping tomorrow at this rate, so will use the money on some painkillers and the rest of the fam will have to wait till after christmas to get their presents!
OH's dad just called from the supermarket. He was stocking up on wine for me for Christmas DayHope i feel well enough to drink it.

molly, stay in bed! you sound like my mum after her back op, the minute she's in the house alone she tries to clean the bath when she can't even walk!! crazy ladies, glads you're home and on the mend.
hope the colds are going and i wish the snow was melting!!
Took me hours to get to sleep last night, now I'm up really late and about to start my usual routine of revision! I've pinched the mighty boosh box set off my sister to watch on my breaks. I never liked it at the time but am just starting to get into it
The diet is going well, *weight* is still falling off and the high protein is keeping me really full.Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -
afternoon all. i'm exhasuted already and its only lunch time
shopping came last night but few things were out of stock. potatoes of all things!! so this morning first thing we had to go and get the bits we forgot. my god it was busy  why is everywhere running out of potatoes! got some in the end.
took ds for his hearing test. they said he was 'ahead of the game' meaning he refused to turn his head when he heard the noises and instead raised his eyebrows at the audiologist as if to say get lost :rotfl: but seeing as his speech is so good they're not too worried. review again in 4 months to see if the congestion has cleared. it had cleared last time but he's had non stop colds so has come back.
trying to persuade him to have nap but its not working. he has his party in an hour so we're off again!
so glad alan has the day off!
