Hello all :j
No crafting today...........had a rough night last night, didn't sleep well at all. Disability claim forms came through and I read through them........makes it all the more depressing when I read the questions about what I can and can't do and most of the answers will be ''can't''. Took me all my time to read it all.
Rang Ageuk and someone is coming round to go through the forms with me so I don't put the wrong thing down, plus assess me for any extra aids I need so thats something.
Thinking maybe we'll have to move to sheltered housing or somewhere thats easier for me.........ho hum...............;)
Maybe get my buttons out tomorrow.........mustn't let it stop me doing everything must I.
Milla - moan away - crikey I do enough of it and this lot are so supportive. Hope you feel better soon:)I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Lol, that's like a secret code!!! Do you mean almost make the main part like a quilt? Or something completley different? Thanks hun.
Milla - you moan all you want!!!!! Writing everything out like that is therapy in itself and BOUND to help, even if it's just a little weight falling off a shoulder!! MORE big hugs (or cwtches - cuddly hugs - as we say in Wales!!).

you could use a piece of material either end with the interfacing in the middle, should give you a good base to put your advent patches on:T

Just got a bargain - I was just coming back here and to the money making board to post it but they've sold out. So sorry guys - I wasn't fast enough. I have to tell you though - I just bought some DS games from the Disneystore reduced from £25.00 to 50p Woohoo. I just hope the order doesn't get cancelled now.
Edited to add: Why do Disney hike their prices up so much? I've just looked on ebay and amazon and they are going for about £9 and £10 each brand new. I still got a bargain though.I :heartpuls M.S.E.Mortgage Free 18/01/10 13 years and 8 months early on a 20 year mortgage!

elysia - thanks hun.
esmer - do you ahve any links to any information about fusible interfacing??? Sounds almost mechanic! Thanks!
Mary - my aunt and uncle live in sheltered housing. Everyone has their own flat and basically has as much or as little help as they personally need. My uncle's health isn't fantastic, so it's mainly for him, but she's slowly losing some of her sight but you wouldn't believe it! She's basically running the whole social side of the place now!! lol Games nights, meals.....

I got some stuff from boots, that will do my cousin for xmas, chocs for friend birthday in June, and a few birthday pressies. Should have been 60 odd quid, got it for 30. and the kind boots lady went and got me vouchers from the advantage machineesmer - do you ahve any links to any information about fusible interfacing??? Fusible interfacing - I only know about cause others use it for the crayon rolls. http://chocolateonmycranium.blogspot.com/2008/04/crayon-roll-tutorial.html it seems to make the material a bit stiffer, so it wont curl up. It might help your advent calendar?Saving 2.00 coinsGrocerys set to 40.00 pwBeing Thrifty0 -
Clare I know you can buy it by the metre from Hobbycraft.
http://direct.hobbycraft.co.uk/products-Hemline-Medium-Weight-Iron-On-Interfacing-1m-x-1m_259070.htm
The also sell it on a roll, and can be cut to whatever length you want. Have a look on ebay, it might be cheaper there.
ETA: They sell different colours on ebay too, and also a heavyweight (thicker) version. Here It's just used like a material stiffener - like starch used to be in the olden days, but starch washes off, this won't. You find it inside collars and cuffs on men's shirts.
Sorry to jump in with all the info, but can you tell - I'm bored today!:rotfl:
Esmer - I got a Pirates of the Caribbean game and a Spectrobes game for DD's birthday next week.I :heartpuls M.S.E.Mortgage Free 18/01/10 13 years and 8 months early on a 20 year mortgage!

I'm looking for a notepad, that i can keep my birthdays in, my purchases, my grocery challenge and have wallets in it to keep receipts. I want an MSE organised notebook. Have you seen anything like it? Looked in whsmith and they only have a project book, the little wallets won't hold many receipts. I just want somewhere small neat and tidy to keep it all in.
l will use a spreadsheet but I need something tangible to keep it real.

good news, been to the doctor and he's rearranged all my meds, stopped some and put a hold on others and changed the most important ones to see if that will make any difference.
so fingers crossed, got to go see him in three weeks.
